I've always admired Erik Buel for going against the grain with his company. Always like their bikes, and almost got a lightning but opted for my Duc instead.

It's a shame it will just have to sit there on those nice warm days. I bet I can find someone (someone who did a kick arse job on that paintjob if I may say so) that would be more than happy to keep her loose for you.

That paint job turned out pretty darn good for only spending $20 in materials on it.

Yep, CALI has a lot of wierd motorcycle laws like that where bikers do not have to obey lane usage laws so they can zip by you while you are stuck in traffic. Only thing that law is good for is thinning out the gene pool

Ted, I wonder were you got the idea for the 2007 Buell ... hmmm ... did I forget to post that I picked up essentially the same bike from the same dealership about 3 weeks ago? Just messing with you (copy-cat).

You have me on the mods though. I guess I've just been too busy riding mine to mod it.

Might want to fix this yourself if you can. Sounds easy enough.

Always been a fan of Buells

speaking of new toys...i just redid my suspension on my liberty last week AND and picked up a 2009 Kawi KX250F dirt bike and im super stoked to be riding again. I'll get pics posted this week!

It's great that my jeep finally stopped sounding like a box of tools going down the highway.

You should come out to MOAB with Durangotang and I next weekend. He's in your neighborhood and I'll be coming through from Monument.

Should have gotten the Jeep of 2-wheeled world:
http://www.klr650.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=20983&d=1235432367
Kawasaki KLR650

Any dual-sport/enduro/adventure tourer makes a great companion to any 4x4. If you have the skills you can definitely go where the Liberty and most 4x4s can't. And it is still way too much fun on the road. I would call my riding style "hooligan with the tendency to go offroad whenever possible".

I have pretty much neglected the Jeep except for snow days since I got that in August.

And yes I use my handguards...dumping that beast offroad is inevitable...and no, I'm not done with my camo'ing process. Since I took that picture I covered the seat in a 600 denier hunting camo pattern and painted the handguards to match the frame. I still need to paint the cargo rack, some odds and ends of the frame, and finish covering my plastics in the camo vinyl. Eventually I'm buying a luggage rack to mount those boxes on.

Don't have permission to view the page you linked us to. :?

Also, can you get one of those for $2800? Cause that's about the same price Ted and I paid for ours.

I got mine for $4000, but it was a 2006 with only 2000 miles on it.
So you could probably pick up a 2000-03 with the same miles on it for ~$2800.

They keep good resale value because the motor and bike in general are very, very reliable and durable. Travel the world on a BMW? Sure, if you want to get stuck in Bolivia waiting for $$$ final drive components to be shipped to you...or travel the world in this thing and change the oil every 2000 miles and your tires when needed. And if you do have to replace anything, you'll have 10 grand you didn't spend on a Bike Made Weird. The motor has been known to go 100K miles, of course by that time you should have replaced every wear item on the bike and inspected the frame for cracks if you beat it offroad.

$2800 on anything as new as that is a steal, probably has something to do with our economy...it's a buyer's market right now because there are very few buyers! What's a recommended resale value on that? The Buells' looks are always growing on me...but the Ducati Hypermotard, love at first sight!
