I've heard CO, NM, and UT being refered to as Mountain West states or Southwestern states but I've never heard of them being Central states. Colorado MAY be called a Plains state but never Utah or New Mexico.

Honestly, I'm not complaining ... just trying to give the staff a hard time. If we didn't complain, they wouldn't know we love them.

Yeah, I'd say anything west of the Rockies should be "West"...including Alaska. It may not meet everyone's definition of "West", but it beats "Other"! ;)

I agree that the Rockies should be the deciding factor but what if the Rockies go through the state/territory instead of the state/territory being "west of the Rockies"? For example (when the time comes), Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Alberta, Northwest Territories, and The Yukon.

Could we just call it "West-ish"? "Westerly"? "Not East?" "Left of Center"? 8)

Colorado is not a plains state even though it is on the edge. NM CO WY MT are the dividing line for the west. The central states (or plains states) are east of those states. IE: TX OK KS NE SD ND as well as others
