Anyone want to start off the new year with a trail ride? Best way to clear up a hangover!
Say Big Levels or Shoe Creek?

Let's see who wants to go - then we can decide where to go. I was just up at Big Levels last month, so Shoe Creek is good. Just wanted somewhere close, 'cause I want to get back home in time to see the ball game. I might have a couple freinds come along- a JK and an Isuzu.

I'm favoring the Shoe Creek idea myself.

Ill have to agree where can we go so a stock jeep can make it.....I have heard of GWNF (George Washington national forest) has some good trials and stockers can get through easily...

Both Big levels and Shoe Creek can be done with a stock Wrangler, but a stock Libby may be a little low. I've got a mild lift on my Libby, and did both. If there's ice, Shoe Creek will be near impossible. We did Big Levels the Sunday after Thanksgiving, after some freezing rain, and it wasn't bad.

Quicksilversurf917, I've got straps, so we can always drag you over the places you can't go. Don't worry, it'll be fun

Shoe Creek is off RT 29 near Lovingston. Big Levels is off the Blue Ridge Pkwy. If the Parkway is closed, there's a back way in also.
GWNF is a little farther than I wanted to go this time. Its a three hour trip up there, and I need to be back in Richmond by 8:00pm. It could be done, but would be pushing it.

Oh, Snap! I just realized some of you guys are from MD. GWNF would be closer for you guys. Let me talk to some other folks here that may be going, and see what they think of going to GWNF. I guess we could leave earlier.

If there are enough MD jeeps maybe split the runs... you lower VA guys to shoe creek and the MD guys to Greenridge. Greenridge is great for stockers!!

How SLOW are you driving on 64?!?! It takes me 2 hours at MAX to get to the Union Springs trails at GWNF (Harrisonburg, VA). Most of the MD guys are used to Union Springs. A stock KJ will have NO issues getting through these trails. If you do, my 35's will get you through it! 8)
