Post subject:  Rausch Creek Sept 10th

So I guess the general consensus is that we should go on the tenth of September. Let's get a head count going so I can contact Lynn at Rausch and let her know we're coming. I personally need to check my budget first, but I really want to go. I haven't wheeled since Gwnf and I'm jonesing for a wheeling fix. I'll probably e-mail Lynn by the end of the week, so let me know who's going.

I'm in. Sandy and I will be in Potstown Pa. on Fri night to take my mom out to dinner, so It's only about 1 hr + away. I haven't decided whether it will be a KJ or a YJ ride.

I haven't been wheeling in a while either. I am planning on going the the 27th of August with www.bmja.org. I myself do not know if I will bring KJ or TJ, unless somebody minds that I bring the TJ. Don't wanna cause any problems.

Jae, it doesn't matter which one you bring. Hell, you could even bring a Kia if you want (of course you would get laughed at :-)r ). Anyone else up for this ride? Mike, Al, Tammy, Chris, Andy? Bueller???

Sorry Dave I won't be at this one ( I think ) right now it is very up in the air. I have something on the 9th ( which translates into the wife has something going on and I am being dragggggggged into it  ) If I can get out of it then there will be a good chance if not I will have to go a whole month without hitting the trails. Might as well park it at the mall and throw some groceries in it.

For all those that didn't like being rushed to and over trails that were not exactly suited for stockers or first time wheelers at the Paragon Monthly ride, you should really do Rausch Creek on the 10th. If you look at the Rausch Creek trail ratings you will note that there are green bypasses on blue trails. This should be more like the GWNF run in that we are in controll of which trails we ride. We ARE the guides, and I think we can spot Libertys as well as anyone. I know that David cut a stock tire on our first outing at Rausch, but so did Edgar and the Xterra at Paragon in June and they were running off road tires. We just have to spot well and go easy. Part of the challenge is not to break 'um, and drive home!

OK, the plans for this weekend has been cancelled. I just spoke with the wife and she does not see anything on her calander for the 10th. So I am going to go to the Raush Creek web-site and we will be there as of right now. Sept is a bad month for us as far as planning goes, all but one weekend is filled with activites.

I will be there. It was so much fun yesterday, we just have to go back. Let me tell you, I am so glad the boulder bars were put on before we went because those suckers took some hits. Even sheared two bolts that held 'em on. I also bent the Engine skid so it is hitting the exhaust a little bit. Going to have to whack that sucker back into shape.

My brother plans on tagging along with his TJ on the 10th with us. My husband wishes he could bring his TJ but his draglink is all shot.

Hey David! Is it too early to set up a meet up time and place? I think we met at a Mobil station last time. I'm really ready to wheel with you guys and girls again. It's been so long (June 7) and I see a lot of new names on the list. At this time it looks like I'll be wheelin the YJ. She's getting new motor mounts and another inch of lift next week so I'll have to try her out. Do we have to let Lynn know were coming?

I already e-mailed Lynn and told her we were coming. However,, with gas prices jumping twenty cents a day!!!!, I'm not sure if I can even afford this trip now. At $60 + a tankfull and needing at least two tankfuls for the trip plus the park fees is too much. And I don't even know for sure if I can get out of work. As far as a meeting place though, the best place to meet up prior to Rausch Creek is the Exxon/diner at the exit prior to the Rausch Creek exit on I-81. I would suggest meeting at around 8:30 though so you can BS a little and get there around 9. Randy, if I can't make it, can you do the honors by leading the ride? I'll let you all know as soon as possible.

I'll be happy to lead the ride or defer trail guide to someone else with more knowledge of Rausch, but I hope you can make it somehow. The gas prices are a " ..tch", but I'm gonna make this ride. I've been reviewing the trail maps and discriptions and it looks like modded rigs and stockers can stick together real well. The Exxon/diner at I 81 exit 104 at 8:30. Be There!

I'm really sorry guys but I'm definitely out on this one. My schedule was posted today and they didn't give me off. We've been a little short staffed lately and one guy decided to take a vacation this week. I really was planning on going against my wife's wishes and saying to hell with the money, but the other boss  said I couldn't go. Take plenty of pics for me so I can enjoy it vicariously. Catch you all later.
