OK, I can meet anyone at the McDonalds right off of Rt. 66 (Sudley Rd - Exit 49) at 7:30am tomorrow (Saturday) morning, grab a bite, and then we can head down. For those that don`t go that way, we can meet at the sheetz down in Harrisonburg around 10:00 am or so or anywhere else before that. LMK. I heard from Grant and he`s meeting me at Micky dee`s in Manassas. Chris, Richard, anyone else, you want to join us? LMK asap.

See ya in the morning.

Mike

Grant, Laurie, and I had a fun time. Check out the pics here and go to the bottom. Feel free to check out any of the other pics too.

See everyone next week.

Mike

So how were those trails compared to the ones we checked out last month?

The first trail (Second Mountain Road) definately needed 4wd in spots and was fun. There were quite a few mud puddles and bogs to play in with go arounds. We went onto Gauley Ridge and past Dictum Ridge and continued on Gauley Ridge. Nothing much after that but basic trails. I can`t remember if the first and second Tower places (the second where the pic in my avatar is) are before Dictum Ridge trail or after so my recommendation is to turn onto Dictum Ridge trail at the ATV staging area or go past that to the second tower (if it`s past that) and then turn back and go down Dictum Ridge trail.

We didn`t do Dictum, but what I`ve gleaned is that you may need 4wd in some spots. Also, all the "4wd" and "Jeep" trails on the Delorme maps on this side were all blocked off and haven`t been travel in ages, hence the reason why we prolly haven`t seen any reports dated after `96 about them. I did like these trails and I know everyone will love the Rock Crawl poser shot that is in my avatar. I recommend doing the above plus what we did on the first pre-run. There will definately be enough time! ;)
