Post subject:  ARB Bumper / Winch Install??

I just went to a local 4x4 shop and asked them how much they would charge to install my ARB bumper and winch. They said that it would take about 5-6 hours to install and that it would cost about 500.00-600.00 dollars!!

Is their anybody around the No. Virginia area that could do this/help me with it??

Thanks for all your help

4x4 Connection. They are a ARB distributor out in Winchester. They can install it. Unixxx had his bull bar installed there.

We can probably do it Saturday in my garage. I'll know tomorrow (hopefully) if I'll be home all day. There may be a 6 year old's b-day party that I'm obligated to attend. Mmmmm, pizza and cake. You would need to bring a floor jack because I don't have one.

I bought my bull bar from 4x4 Connection in Winchester but installed it myself. Check out High Tech Auto and Truck in Chantilly: http://www.hightechautoandtruck.com/ I just dropped our Wrangler there to have a new muffler installed. The mechanic was great and gave us tons of tips for tweaking our RE LA kit and also answered all of our non-muffler related questions. Their rate is $98/hr. Anywhere in NoVa is going to be expensive. The guys at 4x4 Connection also seemed pretty good and I'm sure their rate will be lower because they're rural.

I called 4x4 Connection today and asked them how much they would charge to install everything. They said that even though they install customer parts, they did not want to do the job. Something about they could not warranty the work.

Shops don't like it when you bring in your own parts because they get a significant markup when they sell parts to you. If I use a shop, I let them order everything.
