September 17-18, 2005
Flying W. Airport Resort Medford, New Jersey
About Fest :..
Here comes New Jersey's long desired truck show! For years now, Jersey has been suffering a major lack of trucking events. Now, the day has come.
From the promoter who has brought the East Coast 10 years of the Jersey Jambo truck show, the East Coast gets another dose of a kick-ass truck event!

The Jersey Truck Fest, September 17-18, 2005 at the Flying W. Airport in Medford,
New Jersey, will be THE weekend of Truck mayhem for ALL Truck enthusiasts to endure!

Lowriders, SUVs, Vans, and 4x4s are welcomed to attend and ALL comers are invited to experience the extreme and wild entertainment!

Jersey Truck Fest is HERE...YOU should be too.

Anyone interested? They have a couple of SUV/4x4 classes in which Ford, Chevy, are excluded. Seems just right for some tricked out Libbies to enter!

I will be there on Saturday and most likely Sunday (however the Good Guys hot rod show is this weekend and I may just drive up to Rhinebeck NY) to show the Liberty in all its trail rash glory. I wounder how many of those other SUV actually go off roading? Stop by and say hello. If you can't find me look for the bikini contest and then look for the old, bald, fat guy with the Jeep hat in front of the stage with the drool hanging from his both sides of his mouth!

Well it was an interesting show! You missed the bikini contest, the wet t-shirt contest, helicopper rides (extra $25.00 on Sunday), monster truck rides ($6.00 extra), cash bar (strange thing to have a truck show, especially at the end of the day!), tiki bar, airplane shaped pool, motorcycle sunt team, WWII planes flying over and trucks both mudders and show trucks with 1 -2 foot lifts, low riders, custom paint jobs worth thousands, and one lonely Jeep Liberty.

I was watching the truck field, and the ol' Liberty with its custom pinstripping by Trail Rides, and custom slightly dented door by Paragon had more people stop buy and discuss the modifications than did the two lifted monster trucks along side of me. I had a lot of Liberty owners stop by, the conversation started..."I brought one of these for my wife and she wants a lift..." I think a lot of people think our Libertys are "girlie" Jeeps. Hopefully I changed their minds. I pointed all the Liberty owners to the LOST site. Met some southern Jersey Jeepers, and they were impressed. It seems that there are very few lifted Libertys in southern Jersey.

There was one truck, a Ford pickup I could have drove under, nice chrome chasis! Needless to say I had "lift" envy!

Sitting their with my gin and tonic (my two drinks for the year) watching all the activities was interesting, especially the girl parked behind me, every good looking guy that walked by she would yell out.. "take your pants off!" She told me she was tired of us guys yelling to her about lifting her shirt, so she beat us to the punch line. Her husband wasn't too happy with her!

I had a good time, I wouldn't recommend this show for the faint hearted (very young NOPI type crowd), and it was relatively small, maybe 150 trucks showed up.

Next year we need to show up in force, be cool with 5 to 10 Libertys showing up.
