Hi Joe,
Newville is a small town 15 miles south of Carlisle or 45 mile south of Harrisburg. I used to race R/C cars in Quakertown at a track called Ray's place, so Your not to far away.

Once I get some more "stuff" on my CRD then I will be hitting some trails with the LOST group.

Welcome curtis. It’s always nice to see another oil burner in the group.

What kind of "stuff" are you planning?

Jason

Hi Jason,
In 2 weeks the stock exhaust is getting replaced with a 3" custom Stainless exhaust minus the Cat and the muffler. Diesels are exempt from emissions testing in my area and they run much better on a "open system".

Then I planning on full armor,
A winch,
Some kind of 4" lift, full spring if possible?
Better tires, I have no idea on the right ones yet,

I have been researching this web site as much as possible to aid in my best options to add to my CRD. As soon as I get some protection underneath my jeep then I would like to try going on some group trail rides. I don't want to tear up anything.

How mild or wild are the trails you ride on now?

Just got my KJ two weeks ago and I'm DYING to take it on a trail ride. Where in the GWNF do y'all ride? The Skyline Drive portion is only 35-40 minutes from me.

Nero,

Welcome! Our next trail ride will be the weekend of April 21/22. (I hope the 22. I can't get Saturdays off this time of the year.) We haven't been to GWNF in a while maybe we plan the trip there. Usually we like Saw Mill run, Second Mountain, I don't know the names but, there is two or three trails that run up to Flag Pole Knob. We usually try to plan lunch there.

Do you have skid plates and tow hooks?

Curtis,

Sorry it’s been so long since I got back to you. I don’t get away from work much this time of the year.

Yea get some armor and join us. Usually we stick to greens and low blues. It depends on who is going, how there set up, and what there comfort level is. I think we might try for George Washington National Forest next month. Most of the trails there are fire roads. Skids are almost not necessary but, you never know what you might get into. Always better safe than sorry, specially if you are not lifted.

Jason

Hey guys I'm a new KJ owner in Northern Virginia area looking for shops to get work done on the new ride. Only know of Adrenaline Offroad in MD and heard of Outlaw Motorsports in VA. Anybody recommend any place?

Also the KJ is my daily driver, but I do want to make it as functional as I can for off-road use by my cabin in Upper Michigan, and some light wheeling around VA. With that being said I would like to keep the majority of my warranty intact, and keep the fuel economy as close as stock as possible. So any advice would be appreciated?

I’m thinking for the first upgrades, as full armor, a light bar (I guess the Mopar one, unless I can find something cheaper/better), new rims with backspacing (eventually for wider tires, I only have 225’s now), and maybe a rear locker of some kind. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?

By the way one of the main reasons I got the Libby (other than a sweet deal, 18K brand new!) was the LOST KJ site. It just reinforced that the liberty has serious potential as a duel threat, good on and off road. Looking forward to talking with you guys, and doing some wheeling!

Also, where do I get some Mid-ALantic KJ stickers? I have to represent once I get some upgrades.

Nate
