That's not bad, my aunt lives in Richmond and I'm down there every once in awhile. Are u going to do a lift party or have someone do It for you or do it yourself? |

I'm waiting on an estimate from a local shop for the OME parts, which are essentially what's in the Frankenlift, and the labor to install them. If he comes back at about the same cost as the Frankie, then I'll have him do the install. If he's too high, I'll get the Frankenlift, and have a lift party, do it all at once. I gotta do rear brakes, too. |

Ok well depending on when you find out that information, I should be able to come down and help out, but it would probably have to be a weekend. For me atleast. |

a Franky has more than just the OME parts. A Franky is also a lot easier to swap out yourself as the fronts are preassembled so you won't need to compress any springs to get the plates off. If you get a Franky we could probably bang the whole thing out in about 4-5 hours, including the A-arms. Let me know what day and if I can I will come and assist. Also, make sure you have someplace lined up to do an alignment when done. Get a lifetime if you can so you can go back for a tweaking after it settles. |

I was wondering about that. What, exactly are the extra parts? I'm looking at the CRD Premium II, which Al J's suggested since I have an ARB and winch. |

are you a CRD? Others may have a say on using the CRD coils on a gasser. You should post over in the main 4x4 section. BTW, the Franky has a big spacer and different top plate along with the coils and shocks you would get. When I did mine I just bought the OME shocks and coils and after removing my fronts I took them to a shop to have them swap out the coils and shocks using the existing plate and bolts. Costed me but at least I didn't have to try and use spring compressors to get things off and on, they can be a b1tch and dangerous if not done correctly. |

I appreciate all you guys wanting to help. As soon as I get my parts ordered I let you all know and we can come up with a date. I would like to have the Jeep ready to go wheelig on September 19. I may have to find some place to do this, as my driveway is fairly small, and my garage is too full of crap to use it. |

Let me know if you don't find a place to get it done. I can not only lend a hand, but tools and knowledge as well. Ill talk to a few people about finding a place with a lift...otherwise my driveway can be enough room. |

I talked to the folks at All J's and they definitely recommend the CRD II lift, given I have an ARB bumper and a winch. They also told me that there is nothing different in the finished lift if i get the pre-assembled lift from them, or buy the OME springs shocks and struts and put it together my self. The pre-assembled kit is $1133, and shipping would be $110 for a total of $1243. The local shop i deal with quoted me $740 for parts, and $510 for labor(it could be less since he figured in 2 hours for the UCAs as a separate job - and he'd already have the engine compartment stripped down). His total: $1250. No offense to anyone hear, but for the same money I get the job done, plus the work warranted. But, I would miss out on the fellowship. |
