Hey all, Chris and I are going down to GWNF sometime between the 26th-30th this month. We haven`t picked an exact date yet (have to see what`s up in the schedule for me) but we have the week off so we`ll post a date when we have a better idea.

If anyone wants to go along, you are more than welcome. The only thing we ask is that if you drive on the trails, that you are armored and lifted. We`ll do the Lost Mirrors trails again which goes across the small river a few times. Maybe we`ll go up Second Mountain but we have time to decide on all the fun we want to do.

Mike

When you get a firm date, I'll be able to let you know. If that happens to be my day off that week, I might be able to make it. Have to check with the wife too.

If you go the 29th or the 30th count me in.

Lifted Sunday (thanks Al) and I just got my new tires yesterday. The rig is looking sweet. Can't wait to get her out, show it off and have fun.

Hey everyone, glad to have found this site and become a member.I see that you're trying to put something together for the weekend of the 30th or there abouts and one of the requirements was to be lifted.I don't think that will happen anytime in the near future.Unfortunately my 05 Renegade did not come with a lift but it did have the off-road package with full skids.I guess I'll have to remain a "Trail Virgin" till the next time.Which I hope won't be to long.(sigh).I think everything else is broken in already I have almost 9k on it.Is there any kind of kit I need to put together for the trail? I've been looking around for a good recovery strap but I'm not to happy with anything I've seen around here in Norfolk.
Take care Mike W.

Tractor Supply has tow straps. If you dont have one near you then when you do join up with us on a run, I can bring you one. When you get your lift in let me know because there are a few others around your area that need to get lifted. When you all have them ready to go your welcome to come up here (Richmond) and have an install party at my place.

Hey, it`s great to have you in the club Mike! The big reason we require a lift is that there are some spots down there where it just comes in handy to have. Plus, we may go onto new trails at any time and no telling if we would run into a place where a stock couldn`t make it. This is just something Chris and I are doing and we welcome anyone else who wants to go along. If anyone would want to come, but not want to take their KJ out, you could always ride along with any one of us. The more the merrier!

I got my tow strap at a Tractor Supply Store as well but you can order them online also at any of a bunch of sites on the net. Trail supplies would be basic necessities for emergencies, both automotivewise and lifewise.

Hey Mike W,

The off road package does not include a tanny skid,, or is it the transfer case skid,, one or the other. Mine is an 03 and unless they've added more skids to the off road package,, you'll have a large open place just about under your seat down under there,, and it just calls out to big rocks,,, smash me here

I fabricated one myself from a drawing I found here on the forum,, but they sell them now,, somewhere.

2005 Rennie's with the Off-Road Package should have ALL the skids. Mine came with all of them, but I know we have all seen different skids on different years from the factory. I would check first, you should have an Engine, Tranny, T/C and Fuel Tank skids.

Welcome Skidog. It is great to see another member from SE VA. One of these dazes all of the SEVA guys will have to get together. Perhaps a quick day trip to the Outer Banks to play in the sand? No lift needed.

I was pretty sure it came with all the skid plates front to back and after checking they are all there.I can see where there is a need to replace or be very cautious when traversing any rocks or something that can possibly tear the metal,it looks like it wouldn't take much for that to happen. That sounds like plan there UGG.Just say the the word and I'm sure the folks down here would go...

I'll be in Rochester then... darn it! Maybe I'll have some snow to play on. Too bad my brother in law doesn't wheel his KJ!

BTW I'm adding that bottle opener mod to my wish list! I think I have one of them around here somewhere!

Merry Christmas!

I guess Mike and I are the only bums off that week. Well I got my new Skid Row front diff skid plate in today. This thing is a monster compared to the mopar skid. (Thanks Skid Row dealer AKA JeepinAl) I should have my new CB this week so I will be ready.
