All,

Good morning. I am relocating to your neck of the woods next week - Reading, PA area. The south has been fun - a lot of great wheelin' areas - but I am looking forward to trying out some trails in PA. Rausch Creek is tops on my list. Looks to be just right up the road. My plans are to hit the trails again in the spring - by that time I figure that my daughter will be able to come along (she is only 4 weeks old right now). I look forward to meeting you all.

Hi there! Welcome to the neighborhood. I live outside of Reading. There is a few places to go around here none without a drive though. Wharton in Jersey is about 2-2 1/2 hrs. Rausch is a bit over an hour and there is a place in Shamokin which is about 2 hrs. away. Ahh love the smell of wet coal dirt! lol Also you can go to Reading Anthracite up around St.Clair/Frackville area but you need an access permit to be on their land.

Bear Valley...it's off of rt.125...If you come into Shamokin on 61N turn left at Dunkin donuts follow it for maybe 2-3 miles, when 125 makes a hard turn to the left don't follow the road go straight thats Bear Valley Road and you keep going until you see the sign that says travel at your own risk. If you go be careful people have a lot of trash in there, look out for broken bottles. I have not gone there this year at all but has some nice trails.
