Going to lunch today in Bel Air MD I'm driving North along RT 24 and I drive past a new yellow Wrangle with yellow truck nutz dangling from the rear bumper. I notice inch high yellow lettering on the back window that reads LIBERTYS ARE NOT REAL JEEPS. I motion for him to roll his window down and ask him to join us 4 wheeling at our Paragon run this Saturday. He shyly declines the invitation and slowed down. I told him,, that's what I figured,,,,,,

I think that anyone owning a jeep who thinks libertys are not real jeeps ought to at least be willing to hit the trail with us to find out,, lol.

my 2 cents

Get this. I was in the turning lane to go pick up some hand saw bits at the hardware store. This woman and her 3 kids pull up behind me in their STOCK TJ. She starts pointing and my KJ and laughing at her kids about it. Well, needless to say, she shut up when she heard my exhaust as well as the ARB bumper on the front end. I chuckled...

They heard your ARB.....that's weird man I gotta hear that sunday at work. Does it sound good? Just being a smart PITA. But yea I have a Wrangler and I like to give Rich dirt for his but I'm just messing with him. Jeeps a Jeep IFS or no IFS, Stock or Rock Krawler. All the same brand of vehicle. WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG......

It kills me every time I get crap for having an IFS imitation JEEP. Especially when it is coming for the YJ guys. I am not a 4x4 expert, but I do know that AMC pioneered the use IFS in 4x4's back in the 60's...it was called the jeepster. And to those Rockcrawlers I like to say what's under your hood?....a chevy motor?.....Hmmmm, I have a Jeep (well DC) motor.

It never changes, the YJ was called the "Yuppie Jeep" in '87 and "poo pooed" for having a real heater, a padded dash, and heven forbid SQUARE HEADLIGHTS. As it was said, a Jeeps a Jeep. I now wheel a YJ most of the time, but started with a KJ (Sandy's DD) and still own her. By the way, how many rock buggies have a SFA. Good move George, inviting the uneducated (ignorant) on a ride. If only he would show up.

What does that have to do with a YJ??? They have solid axles!?!

I was refering to the fact that YJ's were once considered the anti jeep by the jeep purists. I was not trying to say the YJ had IFS, just that it is irritating that the "unwanted step child" YJ is calling the KJ the "unwanted step child".

*I would actually like to see the KJ prove itself just like the YJ and XJ had to. I think they have a lot of potential and sooner or later it'll catch on big. It's funny you say that cause I used to be a YJ hater myself, have always had a CJ-5 and when they 1st came out, I wanted to puke. Then when I was looking to get another Jeep to wheel, the cj's were too much or too rotted and the tj's were just plain too much, so I "settled" for a YJ and love them now!

* to be taken seriously, I'm not trying to be smart.
