It was great meeting LOST members and riding with them.
Temp was only 27 degrees and very windy all day. All KJs came thru the day unscathed except for some new pinstripes. Some of our guests weren't so lucky.

Just a teaser of the day's run. More to come.

Sooooooooo not fair... I was stuck in a classroom all day. I hate being a semi-responsible adult!!!

I put up a slide show of the day on my web site. It may take time to load on slower connections.

Nice shots Mike. I will get my pics up tomorrow when I get home. Right now I’m at the future in-laws and do not have time to up load them. I will also get a trail report out then.

It was a great ride. I think all the Mid-Atlantic folks enjoyed them selves. To all the new faces that showed up. It was great meeting you. I think I speak for everyone when I say we hope you come out again.

Well I'm being called for dinner. Time to go make wedding plans. arrg...

It was a cold March day. Below freezing all day. The wind whipped through barren trees and clouds of dust followed us along the dirt roads leading to the trails. But the sun shown bright and warmed us. A few new faces joined this time around. Although I met every one of them, the names escape me on this morning after. I spent all my photos on the trails before hitting the play area toward the end of the day. A few things that stand out in my mind:
I again attempted the rock garden at the top of trail 25,, and made it!!
We also found the creek again and drove the whole group in and out,, with only minor body damage.
I remember watching a TJ being strapped out of the water and as it plows along through the deep water, I'm laughing as the guys in the TJ pretend to be paddling a canoe
The first time I've ever seen large amounts of water and clumps of mud spewing from the tail pipe of a vehicle,, right after seeing a fountain of muddy water spurting into the air coming from where spark plugs use to be,, lol.
Our 2 hours in the play area almost overshadowed the whole day,, what a great time! I learned a valuable lesson: Check out the water depth before driving through. I hit a so-called puddle about 25MPH,, gunning it as I entered the water,,, heck, it was only about 20 feet across. When I saw my hood disappear into the water,, then felt my liberty level out with the water almost to my windows,, I knew I had found that drop off that stays hidden so well beneath muddy waters. We'd already had 3 jeeps stuck in the water,, I didn't want to be the next one,,, my feet were still dry. I floored it and felt my tires churning mud and water. Just as I was about to bog down my front wheels grabbed and began to pull me out. I kept on the gas and drove out. I had hit the water so hard, and it was so deep that both my mirrors and my front add-on lights all were folded back. I thought it was only a foot deep or so. It wasn't till I had pulled out of the water that I realized how lucky I was to have made it out. Our friend in the Tacoma splashed through this same spot slightly to the right and missed the hidden hole the first time. The second time he sped through, he wasn't so lucky. He found the same hole, only going in the other direction, instead of a drop off, it must have been rock ledge. His truck stopped dead, nose burried in the deep muddy water. I know we have a few pics,, maybe W3CSX got a few pics. The right front tire had come off the rim, and there was a hole in the engine block, oil dripping out,, metal torn apart big enough to get your finger into. kkkustom had to tow him out so we could change his tire,, then tow him all the way up to the office area backwards(he had no front tow hooks). He was calling a tow truck as I left, kkkustom waited with him. That could have been me. Here's my pics of the trails,, no play area pics

Great pics! Sorry I couldn't make the ride. It seems we just can't keep you kids out of the mud puddles  . We may have to ask Paragon to finally give Trail 25 a name. I vote for "The L.O.S.T. Trail" since we always seem to end up on it no matter who's guiding, including me. I'm riding with DeJa (Delaware Jeep Association) at Rausch Sat. Mar. 25th, for anyone who may want to tag along. Hope to ride with you all again soon.

Well it was another great monthly ride. Five Liberty’s, two TJ’s, one YJ and a Dodge Dakota ventured the trails of Paragon with us. George was a little sketchy on what trails were what, so he talked me into playing point dawg. We started out on our perennial favorite and headed for 25(still have yet to find that license plate). Several took the big rock challenge. One of the guys in a TJ almost killed the photographer(that would be me). Half way thru this trail someone realized they did a Chris and forgot fuel. As he headed off for some go-go juice we did the bunny loop just to kill time. Hooking back up at number 2 staging area we had lunch and planed for the afternoon.

George and I wanted to look for the creek we found back in January. I knew it had to be either trail 42 Upper Blueberry or 90 Doe Run 3. Both branch off 11 at the same point. When we arrived we realized that they are Green 3 trails. Having an un-armored liberty in the group we decided not to chance it and went around 11 and 32 to where the creek trail comes out. After parking the skid plateless jeep, we road the bypass around the creek and plowed down it. George and I wanted to do it again but we had no takers.

Looking at the time we decided to head for the Play Area. Going back 11, some of our guys decided the water hole was just too tempting. This was going to prove to be the first of many floods. One of the TJ’s decided she had enough and let her driver know it. Stalling right in the middle of the water. After a quick pull with the Dakota, we found the distributor was flooded. We dried it out with a little help from our friend WD-40 and we where off to the Play Area.

The play area proved to be a bad Idea for some of are guests. The other TJ was the next to go, right in the middle of Rubicon Lake. It was sunk in the mud past the bottom of the doors. Flooding the interior not to mention the engine. All I could think of was Mike and Chris’s Ride this past year thru GWNF and the problems they had with the ZJ. After what seamed like all afternoon we had it up and going. Watching it shoot all that mud out the tailpipe proved to be just the comic relief we needed. After wondering if we could get it started again. You can just imagine the cracks about the dump it was taking. With about 15 mins. left, we decided to have some more fun. I just knew we where pressing are luck. This is when the Dakota bit it and bit it hard! George did a good job covering this one so I won’t go over it again. Mike (KKKustom) and I stayed with him until his tow truck arrived. Our best wishes are with him and his rig. Good luck and keep us posted with what is happening.

All in all it was a fun ride for everyone. See you on the next ride. Oh and before I forget here are my pics:

I dont mean to toot my own horn but... after I yanked the drown TJ out... The KJ made it through no problem!!! It does get freakin deep in the middle, the driverside sank first and made me start to regret it! I love mud tires!!!

Great idea Randy. How would we go about getting Paragon to name a trail for us? I think MALOST could spring for a cool trail marker sign,,, maybe with a libby on it,, LOL.

JeepinAl got stuck in the same area as the dodge that you all pulled out.
