I'm looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday. As to the head count, I'm coming alone (wife and daughter are off on an event). As to food, I'll bring some fresh fruit for dessert and snacking. See you Saturday at the Sheetz in Harrisonburg.

The Sheetz is on Rt 33 just off the I-81 exit. You could either come right over on 33 or take I-64 to I-81 north to rt 33 west.

I think this is it
798 E Market St
Harrisonburg, VA
someone want to confirm that ...I have it at home, I am going from memory ..
So , I know we are going to head to the campsite ( some of us) from the meeting spot, George just has to drop off the trailer , That should give me enough time to set up my tent too right?

That's right! Everyone, be advised that I95 will be condensed to 1 lane from the bridge/tunnel to the south side of the beltway (Baltimore). It's a small segment, but could be a major issue for the whole weekend. Someone correct my report, if I botched the relay, but it was on the radio this a.m.

Richard, ever hear of Google? (sorry, just had to pick on ya) Jenn is correct on the addy.

Grant, I heard the same as well. The Springfield interchange and parts of 495 are gonna be messed up. If you can, Rte. 15 is a good alternative. You may want to try it but it`s always best to check out your maps first.

sorry, no table

and the tarp leaks(so I get the spot where it's dry)

20 people?? guess i'll have to bring the whole cow

Yes, you'll have time to set up your tent,,, what?? 2,, maybe 3 minutes??

Don't take 95 out of Baltimore to get to VA. Go out 70 and near Frederick take 340 south (thru Harpers Ferry) to 7 west and you hit 81 south in Winchester,, then one hour south to Harrisonburg. 3 hours(not counting pit stops)

I avoid Washington at all costs. Not a nice place

Just a reminder folks. If you can buy the Delorme Va. Map book, by all means do it. It really is handy. I`m printing up maps for everyone from my Topo software but you just can`t beat the Delorme map. Has all the trails.

Also, if you have a CB, be on channel 4

Be on channel what????? :?: :?: :?:
George or Andy, I'm coming down from Bel Air so if you want to convoy with me, let me know. How long does it take if you go out 70 to 81? I only know how to go by Washington. Grand total would be about three hours, assuming no traffic and not counting the stop in Manasass for breakfast. Whichever way you guys go let me know and what time you are meeting, maybe I'll go with you. George, you still got my number right? Maybe call me and let me know. If it's after 4, either talk to my wife or call my cell and leave a voicemail

Thats the cool channel! :D

Hey, I`d like to get a roll of who is going to meet at the McDees off of 66. If possible, we who head from 66 can possibly roundevous with the others going 81 at the junction or somewhere nearby for a really cool big KJ convoy.

acbafam and chefdab

I'll be leaving home at 6:30. How about we meet at the parking lot at Tully's/Dunkin Donuts on Bel Air Road, Route 1 at 6:30ish? This is the small shopping center across the road from K Mart. The entrance ramp to 695 in right there. I'll call you both this evening after work,, around 7ish.

acbafam
did you get my email and message?

My usual routine is to go around 695 to 70. I drive out 70 and take a break(bathroomstop) at Mcdonalds just before Frederick. Traffic sucks in Frederick so I avoid that.

Get back on 70 west. Just past Frederick take 340 south(exit52). Take 340 toward Charlestown. You go through Harpers Ferry. Just before you get to Charlestown you take the 340 south bypass,, entrance on the right, that way you don't drive through town.

About 20 miles later you will see 7 West. Take 7 West toward Winchester for about 15 miles. Just before getting to Winchester,, and about 1/4 mile before you hit 81,, I stop at a Sheetz (on the right side)for another break/gas stop(bathroomstop).

Get back on 7 West and you will see the 81 signs. Take the second entrance ramp to 81, which is south,, the first 81 entrance ramp is North,, don't go that way.

(If you do go that way,, keep in mind,, that 81 spits as it goes through Winchester,, and going up to the next exit to turn around gets mighty convoluted.)

We will be on 81 for one hour,, 62 miles I think,, to get to Harrisonburg,, route 33.

Mike,,,, the only thing on 81 where 66 joins in is a truck weigh station. Meeting up would take a miracle of timing and driving skills,, but I know you can do it :-),,,, so look for us at exactly 9:17:31 AM EST. We'll be the ones going 68.7 MPH heading South,, 3 Liberty's,, one towing a small pop-up camper,,, and if you look close,, you might see the gleem of our teeth as I'm sure we'll all be smiling from ear to ear :D in anticipation of a day wheeling.

Couldn't get a cb,, buts still have my hand radios. maybe some one could relay the info to me when on trail

get muddy

george

I more than likely will not make the 7:30 mtg @ mcdonalds, partially b/c I am leaving NJ around 4:00 4:30 and it will take me longer than 3 hrs to get there and also b/c if I go straight to the Sheetz, I can take 81 all the way there and avoid 95 . Does someone want to exchange Cell #'s .... wow I can't believe I will actually get to make a trip!

Jenn, you mean we FINALLY will get to see you? Holy cheet, it`s snowing in heck. j/k Good to finally meet you. If you can avoid 95/495, by all means do so.

Due to the construction, is anyone going to the MCDee`s in Manassas? If not, I won`t bother stopping, LMK folks.

George, you mean I have to WAIT for you? LOL, I`ll see what I can do. Depends on when I leave.

If anyone wants my cell phone, pm me and I`ll give it to you.

Mike
