so i eventually want to lift my KJ and i was thinking that the frankenlift was what i was wanting to go. but i looked recently and noticed that they were discontinuing some of the kits because of discontinued rancho shocks. I was originally thinking of the Frankenlift I or II. Is my best option going with the frankenlift II premium? Or is there another kit i should look at? Im only looking for enough lift to fit 31 or 32's maybe 33's.

I'm in the same situation. Near as I can tell, according to all of the "research" I have done (and I am by far not an expert) the Frankenlift II Premium is the at the top of the list, but don't think about 32" or 33" tires unless you spend the money on a Jeepin' by Al 4" or 6" lift, or do an SFA swap.

Since Rancho stopped production of the RSX line AllJs now only sells the Frankenlift with OME shocks.
With it you can do 32 inch tires, more than likely you will want to swap to 4.10s as well to gain back the power and MPGs you lose when going that tall.
Most run a 245-75 with very small amount of power or MPG loss
I am running a 265-75, ARB front bumper ( where a lot rub with larger tires) and a "modified " Franky and no rubbing at all

Hi have a franky premium up front and skyjacker (crappy) in the rear for now. 245's work out great as long as you have your pinion reset, my shift points were all screwy until i had this changed. It should be around 682 revs per mile w/ 245s.

I run a full 32" tire on my KJ without the Jeepin' by Al lifts. Just a Franky II Premium. No SFA either.

The Frankenlit is nearly the same height as the JBA 4" lift. You can run 32's with the normal trimming, and possible washer bottle relocation. 33's give up on, unless you SFA.

I stand corrected!! Like I said, I'm no expert. I tend to do TOO MUCH "research", so I confuse myself sometimes. :? :dizzy: :?

Thanks for all the info, with my recent research ive been looking into the BDS 2" lift. should still be able to fit a 31? although having trouble finding info on what shocks to use now.

I just put Bilstein BE5-D916 shocks on the front of mine today. In the short time I drove this evening, it felt really good. Also very impressed with the build quality of the Bilstein compared to my old Rancho RSX 17505 shocks.

I run the 2" BDS lift and right now i have 245/70r16s(29.5") and the only problem i have run into is while off road the washer bottle took a hard knock from the wheel well and cracked the resevoir. So going to a 31" tire i would recomend relocating the washer bottle. You will also want to do the normal trimming and pounding with the 31's.

Last year a buddy of mine bought a Frankenlift and received the OME shocks not the Rancho's. Too bad they're discontinuing the Rancho's, I was hoping to get a pair.
