I am doing the regear soon. The 265's are killing me with the 3.73's. I am wondering if i can regear the front without a bearing kit but do the master overhaul kit on the rear? I am looking at cheaper gears as well on randys ring and pinion. should I be wary?

Get the bearing/install kits

get quality gears, I've known guys who went cheap and ended up with gears that whine all day long etc .
Trying to cheap out will just cause more headaches down the road
Remember only gears for the front are Dana Spicer no matter what some sites suggest.

Trying to buy gears when your broke isn't easy. SO i cannot get away with a shim kit in the front with a professional install and nice gears? Anything has got to be quieter than my rear end right now :banghead:

Did you price used differentials from a salvage yard? The 4 cyl models had 4:10's. It was less for me than the cost of gears and install kits.

Good idea! I didn't think about that. I just put in a used diff that I bought for 150 bucks.
