Taxes are higher as well property and state income. That's why I was wondering if 60k was good for the area.

Find sites like http://www.bestplaces.net/compare-cities/ I am sure there are many others.

http://www.bestplaces.net/cost_of_livin ... /minnesota

You also will want to check on your auto insurance costs as they very by region and area.

Compare where you are and where you are moving. If the cost is higher and you want to move use the numbers as negotiating points.

I didn't think about insurance going up. Thanks for the links as well.

I used to live in Saint Cloud. It is a very nice city located on the Mississippi river, 60-miles south of Brainerd lake area, 60-minutes to downtown Minneapolis, and 90-minutes to Duluth. One university (division one hockey program), Saint Johns college, Saint Josephs college, technical college, Bravo Burritos (restaurant), and old granite quarries nearby.

Travelling east or west traffic through town (Division) takes some real patience!
