Wait until the KJ's are as old and missing doors as the vehicle in your picture is.

I've been thinking about a exo roll cage as well. Not sure how to secure it with a stock bumper. I'm going to be going with a Detours Backbone and not a ARB bumper. :JEEPIN:

From what i see i believe that a full exo cage is very difficult to be done to a kj.
I think the problem is with the rear side and especially with the rear fenders.
You don't have space to work on.
I mean what's the meaning to make a cage like this if your side protection is almost zero.

add heavy tube tail light guards similar to whats on my TR rear bumper and fork from the tail light guards

you're right, it gives some very odd bends in the tube to do an exo to the rear bumper without some sort of side protrusion

similar tube builds would make an exo much easier than with a non-guarded rear bumper

Exo roll cage is very easy to install now you can download and install them any time from anywhere which is the good thing. Something comes very interestedly when cheap resume writing services offer the same thing in a very cheap process.
