More possibilities:
Could be the front pump inside the transmission has failed (no fluid pressure). Would act the say way.
Have you checked the transmission fluid level or try adding some extra fluid to the transmission?
There has also been a few rare of cases of owners finding the inner screw on fluid filter (has plastic nipple) breaking off and causing total loss of fluid pressure.
I replaced my filter nipple with a metal one from Geno's Garage for this very reason.
