I think people will with the budget will more likley but this than the 4" lift since it still is considerably less than a SFA swap to get the lift (comparing cost of the two not performance).

Al's has a good rep for making a-arm's adressing the the geometry of a 2-2.5" lift, these kits look like they also come with alittle bit of hardware to keep on that tradition. Only the trail reviews will tell, but for now the only thing it looks like they can improve on is the CV axles, like in my other post, maybe instead of cutting them, they need to look for another vendor to make custom heavy duty cv axles. I'm suprized that they don't offer instructions on how they want you to modify the "CV joints" on their web site so you can see the modifaction that needs to be done Before you purchase the kit.

There could be alot of other issues or more hardware seen in other kits to address suspension geometry but we won't know until that until someone write a review here.

I'm glad that they are steppin up to offering this kit.

Without them lifting a IFS 2002-2005 Jeep liberty higher than 2.5" propbably would have died after the short lived Rock Krawler kit, rember as popular as this Jeep is, alot of hard coer folks buy other models such as a wrangler, and Jeep is no longer making this model as is uses teh Dodge Nitro for Liberty, Off road parts especially hard core parts for this model will slowly but surely be harder to find just as rock lizard is phasing out their cherokee partts and a big company with lots of money like skyjacker only makes 2 2.5" kits.

I do however notice that jeepin by all uses alot of skyjacker parts as the basis for their lift kits least the older 2.5" kit they offered.

If he made the heavy duty CV axles that didn't need to be modified the price of that lift would be a lot more.

I really dont think that price is bad for what it is. Go out there and look at the prices for full suspension 6" lifts for other vehicles. Even the quality lifts for wranglers (which are the easiest to mod and probably the most common) get near that price. and those are kits that they sell a ton of. this kit they probably have to mark up a little because they wont sell too many. not to mention its a brand new kit that pioneers new ground. i was expecting it to be more expensive... like 5-6k

I have to agree, just look at what the TJ owners will pay.

Overall I'm quite impressed & quite keen to see it in action, my budget won't allow for this atm + the KJ needs to be my daily driver & not the family car. In saying that, I'm really interested in what it will (or the 4" lift) look like on my KJ one day. I do say "one day" as the KJ ain't going anywhere other than up, & my 2" lift is only 1yr old so wait I shall with baited breath.

Does anyone think that doing a mod to the the stock CV's would be enough to prevent you from passing an engineering report for road safety? It's just that all the other stuff in the lift is new & your not playing around or hacking on parts, this is where I'd be concerned that if I was to drive this down the street here in Syd it could be defected. Obviously not on the spot but in the event of an acci it may no longer get insurance cover. That would sux & in order to get cover you must be compliant & have a report for anything over 2".

why skyjacker parts? :( maybe to help keep the price down. It would be hard to part with my OME shocks, they are awesome.

I think it is a fair price, but the CVs need to be addressed better. Why doesn't anybody make stronger ones!!!!??????

PLease don't complain about the price of the kit.It was never going to be cheap anyway and you should have expected that.Just be thankfull someone is making another big lift kit for the KJ,hopefully it was better thought out and engineered then the RK 7" lift.

Until someone puts the kit on there KJ and tests it out without the manufacture being there and is non baised, don't say it's not worth it or knock it to bad.In another post where the parts list was put and a pic was shown I stated my concern over one part of the lift, that's all I'm going to knock the lift for and Jeepin by Al is aware of my concern so I will not say anything else about the lift until it is on someones KJ and test the snot out of it.

I would like to see what that 2" sub frame looks like. I think it is a fair price for what is included and if you have Al's a arms already there is a few hundred dollars you save.

I also wonder about the trasnfercase shim plate, does that drop it down to address the drive shaft?

I'm excited by all of this but have to start saving.

I can't buy immediately. Dang it! I would be willing to test it here in the Rockies...if I had the money right now.

Someone win the lottery for me!

I am excited by this as well.

Soon there will be 4,6 and 8" lifts running on jeep liberties everywhere! And if you include tires size we could see them with over 10 inches of lift.

You might think that price is kinda high but let me tell you that the parts for my long arm lift on the LJ cost around $3200. That was just for the suspension (springs, shocks, control arms, track bars, extended brake lines). Then there was additional cost for the SYE, driveshaft and steering upgrades to compensate for the larger tires (even more money). Plus I paid someone to put it all in for me. So the cost of the 6" lift for the liberty is actually quite comparable to some of the better lifts available for the TJ/LJ. In fact, there are even lifts for TJs that parts alone cost near $4k. So if you're anything like some of the Wrangler owners, you'll do what you have to do to afford the mods you want for your Jeep. Don't complain about the cost. Get a second job, play the lottery or max out your credit card. Buy the lift and go out and wheel it.
