Anyone who wants All-J 2005 BOULDER BARS, reply and I'll add your name to this list.

1. DIRTYKJ
2. HOSS75
3. KABOOM (as soon as it's ready)
4. BCOOL (as soon as it's ready)
5. KJ Willy
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Quinn is trying to decide whether there's anything to change for '05 models. Currently the mod is put the plastic trim piece back. He will need another '05 to come in and check this out. I have volunteered myself.

On related topic, if you want to pick up a set of bars at the lift party, reply to the thread and I'll ask Quinn to reserve a set. You'd better be prepared to part with the cash when the time comes, though :D

Is this a group buy? I'm considering them. What's the group price, if any?

If anyone wants a good deal on a BRAND NEW STILL IN WRAPPER set of RRO Rock Rails, I have them. I may need to go with the BB's instead of the RR's because my mounting holes were pulled a bit. I've got them listed in the 4-sale section if you're interested.

Fixed the post for ya. Is this a sponsored Group buy through ALL J or just to gauge interest?

I'm going to be robbing a bank soon, so please put my name on the list.

Seriously though, I was planning on trying to get a pair before mid-September. If there's going to be a group discount, please lemme know.

If you have not done so yet...You might want to give Boulder Bars a call and see if they are up for a buy like this. Those guys stay very busy and you might want to talk to them to get details and info. Later...Clint

It's not a group buy --- it's to gauge interest. Last time I spoke with Quinn he didn't sound too excited about it. Thought maybe if sufficient number of people show up knocking on his doors with "gimme 05 boulder bars" he'd be more inclined to work on perfecting what he has to work with '05

You know, a discount might be nice, but really, I just want one that will fit on my '05 and not look funny and all :)

Ehh?? The current bars don't fit on '05's? The website just says to ask about what mods are neccesary.. I went ahead and ordered a set and figured I'd just ask about the mods needed when I got 'em.. what's the scoop?

It'll fit but from the last lift party where they stuck one to a CRD, it looked funny. Keep in mind this was a while ago, so things might have changed.

There are two ways you can fit the boulder bar to the '05 KJ. You can either keep the round-ish plastic piece on, or take it off. If you leave it on, and the bolderbar goes below, then it looks funny because you've got a bulge and then you have the bar under it. If you took the plastic piece off, then you'll see that the fender flares don't extend all the way down (as they did pre-'05) and you have several inches between the bottom of the flares and top of the bar, more so than in pre-05 models.

It's mostly cosmetic. The mounting holes (where the plastic trim piece mounts to the body) can probably be filled in some ways.

There is a plastic flare on the 05's that run from wheelwell to wheelwell under the doors. This was not there pre-'05. To get pretty much any type of bar to fit underneath there, the flare will have to be removed. Once removed, there are holes now where the flare is clipped onto the body, and it also removes about three inches of flare on either side closest to the wheels. I plan on putting the flares back on but it will require some modifications to get them to fit. I'll see if I can post a pic later when I am at home for those that want to see what it looks like. This is going to be an issue with ANY type of bar out there.

Hope this helps.

Dave

Dave, yes I'd definetely like to see some pics. Would seem you should be able to trim up that bottom plastic piece to accomodate the bars without totally removing it.

I spoke w/quinn. He's working on something for the 05. But this current batch of bars will go on like described here. You just put back that plastic part (or not).

You guys need to call quinn before you go to all this work. Would be nice for him to know about this before you all plan on it. I had dinner with him last night and he knew nothing of this. Would be nice to give the venders a call first before you get a list. Let them place a group buy, other wise it might make them feel like they have to do it.

I'm not forcing Quinn to do anything. My point was, is, and will be to get a list of people with '05 that say, "Hey, I want one". I don't care about a discount, though that might be nice. Quinn said that there might be a way for them to make BB that's '05 ready without modification. As it is now, it's not out yet. So, as a way for him to gauge the response, here's the list/thread.

Again, it's not about the discount ....
