so I have been at this for 2 days now and am running out of ideas.
Trying to figure out how to torque the passenger top rear a arm bolt to 80 without luck. Can't get the torque wrench to hit the mark. Any ideas?

Also having trouble getting everything on the passenger side back together correctly.
I have the instructions but no Bueno.
Trouble is pulling the spring and fork back enough to get bottom bolt in.
I guess going to try the ratchet but that would require walking a considerable distance to Wally World. Anyother ideas?

Thank you all truly!!!

Torquing the a arms is the last thing you want to do. This needs to be done with the vehicle on the ground under load. Remove air cleaner assembly to make it easier to see. I used a 1/2" torque wrench with a 12" extension so that the wrench is in front of the engine. Wasn't very hard to tell you the truth.

Yes to what has been said, never torque the UCAs until fully on the ground and bounced a few times
Rachet strap works great and pulls them right in with no issues

This is going to be hard to describe. Skyping you would be easier.

Mark your lca cam bolts with PAINT MARKER.

Undo nuts, rotate cams so that the lcas are all the way outwards.

(Your gonna need a post lift alignment anyways)

Then place a through the Clevis fork and hook onto whatever you can then lever the fork into position (any position you can) so you can just get the bolt from the fork into the bushing. Once you get that bolt into the hole (even if the Clevis isn't lined up, you can pry and drive a punch through the other side.

I've tried the ratchet strap thing a hundred times... Never worked for me.

I always use a pry bar and some leverage... Ps, don't pry on or mess up your cv.

If you want, pm me and I will give you my phone number and talk you through it. Or even Skype if you want.

I have never loosened up my LCA. Undo one side of the sway bar and the lower arm will drop down.

Never ever do you have to loosen up the lower control arms, no need to , waste of time and energy
Over 30 lifts, rachet strap always works when done right , just have to know which end is which
I've talked a lot of folks through lifts from all over the country over the years
listen to those who have done them

Once was called to help out finish a lift that someone loosened the cam bolts, yes they marked them but man was it a huge PITA to get everything back so it would go straight down the road

I have done 15.. On my own jeep lol!

Struts in and struts out. Trying to hit 22.5 (proof here on LOST)

But hey, when your up the creek with no ratchet strap, you gotta pack it in and forget about your lift because a ratchet strap is the ONLY way right???

Hell, I take mine right off.

God I love getting pissed off about stuff :)

Gives me an idea, time to create a tool that serves just this purpose!! Pull the fork in and is cheaper than a ratchet strap. ...

So funny
If you want to get technical I've more than likely had mine torn down 50-75 times trying little tricks/ some worked some didn't

I give up
So make another " tool" when all you need is a simple strap, if they don't have a strap they are going to have this tool laying around ?
If it comes down to it, I have also used a rope tied off to the other side and the stock jack, but thats another story :pepper:

That's right reinvent the wheel it's not round ! Geez. It's not like ratchet straps are expensive - you don't need the super heavy duty ones a dollar store version would probably do the job.

That's why I don't have ratchet straps anymore lol.

I had 1" red ones from Home Depot. They snapped. i didn't get hurt tho.

But even if I make a tool just for me, it'll be one more contraption I got in my box. As you can imagine, I have quite a few contraptions in my box.

How do you haul anything without rachet straps
I have 5-6 in the KJ all the time, half dozen in the enclosed trailer and another 8-10 hanging in the garage
Use them for all kinds of things from hauling to holding things together I am building out of wood/ metal
Even have special straps I used on the Harley
They are sort of like McGuyver of tools
of course all of mine are heavy duty, never buy cheap

This is what I did. After removing the sway bar link, I put my foot on the LCA, and it went right in.

I get 2x4x8 's in through the back all the time, doors closed. Anything bigger and I borrow the trailer. And if it's heavy, like 4000lbs, I use an f250.

I've got good ones too. :goink: Just making the point that it doesn't take a load strap from a semi to get things in place especially if the cost of a strap was the issue.

T....totally missing the point once again
So many other uses for ratchet straps
Heck I have used them at party's to hold lights, awnings,
Like I said was building a large bench a while back for a neighbor , used them to hold things together while I screwed it all together
Hauled things like lumber in mine as well
Don't have the luxury of a 250 sitting for me to use so everything is hauled by the KJ or one of two trailers I have
