With respect to the RL guys, I wish ARB or someone would make the typical ARB bull bumper! Internal winch and bull type bars protecting the hood/front of the truck. I can't tell you how many times that style bumper has protected the front end of my different rigs from trees while wheeling here in Washington State.

I'm confused. What's wrong with this?

The item pictured = just what I read in your statement... meaning ARB makes a very nice (but not cheap) Bull Bar for the front of a KJ, winch well included there.

That's not the BULL bar ARB makes for most trucks. The bull has bars reaching all the way out to the edges of bumper. I'm on my iPhone right now or I'd post a picture.

Each ARB is designed for each type of vehicle it goes on, the type you are talking about would look really weird on the KJ

The bars as you describe would interfere with the headlights.
Both ARB's application and the new, upcoming Rock Lizard bull bar are nice looking, sturdy (I'm guessing that about the RL, since I do know they don't make junk) and work well with the vehicle they're mated to.
I suppose you could weld up a bunch of bars on the front of something, but my preference is something reasonably decent looking and super functional. My TJ's ARB has chewed up a few vehicles in its lifetime, with only a scratch or two to show for the events.

I've had a Cherokee and two samurai's with that ARB and they sure work well as a tree feeler gauge in the tight stuff here in Washington State. I understand that KJ's aren't those vehicles, I just thought ARB could have made that bumper style for the KJ. You may be right about it though.

Joe, there's a lot more material on the bottom of the KJ's bullbar than the FJ80 (and earlier) 'cruisers.

TBH, that particular bar does not look like it would protect a whole lot here in the Midwest. the fenders don't seem protected at all. A wraparound bullbar that extends a bit further out definitely looks like it would be a good investment.

ThunderbirdJunkie does not particularly care for the ARB bumpers made for most rigs, for that reason. The later Jeeps (ZJ, WJ, KJ, current and last gen 4Runner, 92-02 Trooper, etc) are the only ones that he thinks a bullbar would do a darn thing on.

then why not buy the ARB and mod it the way you want it, or build your own. There was a member on here who modded his ARB and it looked great!

IMO that would be the best way to go, because then it is what you want and you will have something s little different than everyone else.

Someone mentioned that somebody had modified their ARB bumper. Any picks of that around anywhere?

I think he saw that the thread had been bumped to the top and assumed that it meant that Marty was shipping front bumpers.

ummmm...yeah, got that. I was poking fun at the idea of front bumpers actually being ready. Funny, this thread is Way old and it was in this one that they said they were almost ready to ship.....again......

Hopefully we will see a RL SFA before any front bumpers ship......July is sneaking up fast.....
