also it looks like that skid has only 2 or maby 3 inches to bolt to the transmission mount mine will cover it all the way to the back also mine
will over lap the x-fer case skid not just meet it making for a smother transition when going forward i will likely counter sink 1/2 inch bolts to avoid snags on them and the front has 3" to go under the front skid
all this was looked at to help avoid bending
think of it like this if you were to place a 2X4 between 2 tables and leave only a few inches on each side and nail it down with 2 nails on each side the ends will still bend up if you sit on it
but if you leave more on each side and use 4 nails per side then the ends will not bend up when you sit on it and the center will bend less
make sense ?

I am not real happy with what i saw it seems to flex some what ,about 1/2"-3/4" to get the jack stands loose and it held 3/8" after on center
so to those who said it would bend
You were right ,for now
I hate to say I told you so but...... Keep adding to it and soon you will be where you could have just bought an All J.
But seriously, Keep trying and you will at least end up with something better than the factory piece. At least your transmission will be protected.
So what did your engineer friend say about it after it bent?
Yes you did tell me and were right but I will say that the skid cost me $130 at this point and now it will cost me another $20 for more angle
thats still only $150 to my door wich is about 1/2 the cost of the all j's skid
I dont know what he has to say I have not called him how ever the other guy who is "fixing" it says that it should be "more than enough to hold up a small suv like that" he said "heck this should hold up a hummer" I said "we shall see"
bend or not i think after this I will leave it as is
Oh yeah it may have been my own fault that it bent because I did hot have the bolts in the back on the trans mount tight
