Okay, a 4" lift would be awesome but, what would be other issues that can come up with having it and 33's on your KJ?

I am sure that the a-arm and CV issues will be addressed and included with the lift.

1. Will the front and rear diffs handle the larger tires?
2. Will the transfer case need to be swapped out?
3. Any issues with the steering system with the larger tires?
4. Tranny?
5. Brakes?
6. Backspacing needs with 33's? Will the Rubi/Moab wheels handle 33's?
7. Will we need more peanut butter?
8. Will my/your ego rise too high?
9. How much lose of power will there be?
10. Who will still be able to fit their KJ in their garage?
11. Will I/you have to shoo away the excessive number of hot babes that come calling?

Just some things to think about and discuss.

We should all ask these questions here:

Just some things to think about and discuss.

1.Rear axle will handle 33's fine, I am unsure on the front. 4.10's or 4.56 gears with 33's would be reccomemended.
2.Transfer case will handle it fine! Jeep has used them for years. But that much lift, a SYE (SlipYokeEliminator) would be reccomended.
3.Steering I would hope would be addresses by a "complete" kit. Rack should be ok....there are many ways to address this, won't know for sure unti a "kit" is out.
4. With appropriate gearing, the tranny should not really see any more stress. maybe a larger cooler for the autos.
5. Brakes should be ok as well, but drilled rotors and good pads would be a good idea.
7. Always need more penutbutter!!
8. Thats up to you.
9. Power loss will be more if the gearing is not changed. From experience with other rigs, I would say it will not be a drastic loss. After market air filter and cat-back would offset the power issue....
10. If not, get out the sawsall!!
11. I highly doubt it

JMHO :D

Are those cv angles actually the reverse of what we usually see with lifted kjs?

Looks like it. It seems like they just did a 4" cradle drop and some longer struts and springs, if you really wanted, it looks like you could add some 2.5" poly spacers and have a 6.5" kit, after you take care of a custom top link for the rear and possibly a new driveshaft...Also looks like they're using the stock lower arms on the rear, which is a no-no with that much lift, look at how far forward the axle is realtive to the wheel well, needs some RE control arms as well, then you should be all set.

I think the problem in the rear was they couldn't push the axle any farther back without hitting the fuel tank. I read in 4 wheel drive & sport utility that they already moved it back 3 inches.

I'd like to see that thing try to flex out. It looks to me like the 35s would definitely rub in the rear. I could see the flares popping off in a second, and maybe even the tires damaging the rear doors. Look at where the tire is in comparison to the rear door. At the botttom curve of the flare on the door, the tire is practically flush!
Now that I think of it, I'd like to see that KJ flexed out on some 33s. I hope that is what we can run with full articulation after getting our KJs up to a 4" lift

The way the rear fender well has been stretched...I wonder if they put in a smaller fuel tank.

I believe they added longer knuckles also to keep the geometry of the front end close to stock.

Because the axle swings through an arc, I bet that with the axle fully compressed the wheel is centered in the flares.

I really think that the Jeep Skunkworks guys are probably pretty smart and worked out a concept that's not just a trailer queen. I haven't read anything talking about how the Liberator works on the trail but my engineering instincts tell me that I'm sure it works pretty well. At least I know I would be thrilled to have it in my driveway! 8)

Hey you guys all bring up good points, I have gone through all the stuff you have talked about. Currently my diff guard does hit the tank skid. You need adjustable rear arms (top and bottom), the Liberator has longer custom spindles, and the cradle drop is about 4 inches to allow the cv/axle to be level, and the steering.

I like the custom fender flares, and the other goodies. This one and one other Liberty I saw at Camp Jeep inspired me.

Its a good thing my wife doesn't know where these guys live, there would be H E double tooth picks to pay!
