While you're checking the bushings in the swaybar connecting bars go ahead and check the bushings in the bottom of the clevis. I was reading in another thread that they may cause some noise due to loading issues after a lift. I tend to notice a noise when I make hard left turns (body shifting to the right) or when my right wheel goes over a bump - when both wheels go over a bump at the same time everything is fine, and my suspension seems to rebound properly when tested so I have pretty much isolated the noise to the front swaybar area. And looking at a pic from that side I can see some compression in that bushing:

As for the dust cover, it would be a plastic sleeve inside the coil. The one on my right side was crunched so last weekend when I had that side pulled out to check that everything was tight I cut it into manageable pieces and pulled it out - no easy feat when it was inside the coil!

Hope this helps...

LostRenegade,

What's the verdict on the noise? Have you solved your problem? I ask because I've been running a Daystar lift for about three weeks and I get a sound that's like a crunch/groan whenever I roll over wide speed bumps at 25 mph (causing front-to-rear rocking). I get no noise any other time, and the KJ handles great. I'm guessing this will go away with time as bushings get settled with new suspension geometry, but I'm going to try silicon spray on all the bushings.

Since installing the lift, I've had an alignment and had all my suspension nuts retorqued to spec. So nothing's loose.

It's the polyurethane spacer. Hit it with some silicone. Frankenlifts do it all the time.

You da man. I bought some Liquid Wrench for $2, and sprayed the front and rear spacers, as well as sway bar bushings and the bushings Corwyn mentioned. No more "squonk squonk!" :)

Not entirely sure. Ithink it is partly the swaybar. Especially the smaller side bars. The other day it rained and the noise stopped. When it dried up, the noise came back. I hit each bushing with silicone and the noise is still there. I yet have to take it apart, clean, lube and reassemble.

I've tightened up the sway bar links and it seemed to help. There is still considerable noise coming from the drivers side. To me, it looks like the driver side upper ball joint is way bad :x . However, to fix the problem, I just ordered Jeepin Al's A-Arms.

Will a bad ball joint cause a crunching noise?
