If the road was icy, I believe it. I've seen footage of WW2 Sherman tanks sliding across roads in Europe just from the wind.

Next time pull by driving forward. You put a lot of stress on those CVs and aluminum diff by pulling a semi out whiling backing up. The 8.25 is much more suited for that type of abuse.

I've done this a few times with my old '84 Dodge Ramcharger. I have a lot of friends that are owner-operators that will park their rig and it will either sink a little or weather will move in and trap it or something. The issue is gearing and traction with a road tractor. The gears are pretty high for highway use in most cases which with the huge torque of the engine will cause the tires to simply rotate in place. With a little tug in the right direction with the axles on the road tractor locked, it can pull itself out of a lot of situations. If it were really stuck it would take a heavy wrecker to extract it. In most cases when a road tractor is pulled out by a smaller lighter vehicle, a set of tire chains on the tractor would have prevented the situation entirely.

Yeah, I remember reading the exact same story (down to the letter) on DC's webpage a year back...

Luckly the guy was not dug in, He said he had just changed trucks so the tire chains he had would not fit the tires, I hate to say it but it but all and all the truck really needed was a couple of good tugs to get it out of the ruts he had made, and the constant pressure from the KJ gave the rig what it needed to get out. But all in all it makes for a pretty interesting story and makes the KJ look good.

And as far as that story goes on the DC website. I dont know anything about it.
