Hope you enjoyed it. Nice review so far. If you are still nervous,... relax. I am sure by now that you know the Liberty is very capable in Moab. Sounds like an awesome time. Wish I was there.

Interesting, Hells Revenge and Poison Spider are only connected by about 20+ miles of asphalt and seperated by the Colorado river. They are on completely opposite sides of town. There is no way to get from one to the other by dirt. If you are doing both it will be a longer day than you think. Doing either trail can consume the better part of a day, I can't imagine doing both in one day. But hey, go with it and have fun!!
:D I'm jealous!

So did that guy say anything AFTER you did the obstacles that he said you should do by-passes to? Shows he is ignorant about the KJ.

I just made it back to my room and am going to clean up for dinner with the gang.
The route we took (and got lost many times) was Poison Spider to Golden Spike to Gold bar(??), it took us 11 hours.

The cliff notes for now are:

I heard "I'm gonna buy me a liberty 3x's on the CB

On of our guys in a Toyota broke his transfer case at the mount and spewed fluid. A storm (dust storm with wicked winds) started coming our way. The guy without roofs or doors made a run for it, I stayed behind to help.

I took no bypasses and got some wicked photos of me going over that big booty crack.

The trail boss had an FJ. he had more clearance than me, but I had much better traction going up obstacles.

I could really use one of Marty's bumpers now that my rear bumper has some cosmetic enhancements.

I'll give more details whenI have more time and hopefully pics before too long.

Unfortunately, all the photos from Fins & Things that were taken by another memeber of the group were not on the camera, she must have been pushing the wrong button or something. Here are some photos that were taken with my camera that I find note-worthy. There were lots of photos and videos taken by others. I hope to get them soon.

Here's a quick shot of some of the EVO Group I was with.
Image

The Wedge (or is it Wedgie?)
Image

The Trail Leader's rig. I think it's cool.
Image

It looks steeper from the driver's seat.
Image

I made it up without howling tires.
Image

The FJ getting some air.
Image

Try as I might, I just could not get that back tire in the air!
Image

I guess the bridge is out.
Image

See now this is why you need a Rock Lizard Fab bumber.
Image

FJ over the crack.
Image

KJ over the crack.

Image

Did I mention that there was a nasty dust storm?
Image

Marty has a solution for this problem.
Image

I have no idea what I hit here.
Image

I think RL Fab can help me out here too.

An interesting story:

The first time we got lost on Poison Spider, we ran into the infamous Dan Mick taking a Jeep Jamboree group around in their rent-a-jeeps. He pointed us in the right direction (to Golden Spike). He pointed to the FJ and my KJ and told us that we will both have our bumpers torn off if we go on that trail.
We ran into him at the end of the day in that parking area by Gemini Bridges Rd. We honked at him and pointed to our still intact bumpers and drove off triumphently (you gotta celebrate the small victories in life).

Another Story:

Two mullet-wearing dudes in a Toyota pick up passed us as we were having lunch. I heard them (not because I have super hearing rather beer makes you talk louder) say something about the liberty that was left of positive. We caught up with them about an hour later, they rolled on the obstacle I believe is called "Double Whammy". I was following our guy who broke as we looked for a good spot for him to make repairs (cause he wasn't getting out in 2WD).
Well, Mr Mullet asked very humbly and quite respectfully if he could use my Hi Lift so he could raise his roof (which was caved in) so the door would close. While our friend plugged his t case, I helped this guy straighten his roof and passenger door so it would close.

I am definitely going to LOST Safari in March. My next wheeling trip that I know of will be over THanksgiving weekend in MO. It has already snowed in the mountains here and in CO so some of the trails will start shutting down.
I will be in CO next month and perhaps conditions will allow for a trip with the CO crew. Even though they're racist against Utahans. :D

Here you go....
(The tubs are a bit steeper than they seem)
There is only one tub that is doable by a KJ. The others require a rig with some serious mods.
