Called Rock Krawler just to see what they would say about the kit. They in a nut shell told me that if I wanted to get a big lift and get aggressive off road I might want to think about waiting for their solid axle conversion coming out with in the next year. They mentioned someone named Adam R. bashing them on the KJ site. They said this person missed 8 steps in the install....But the tech basicly told me to wait for the solid axle. Said the IFS just wasnt strong enough. HMMMMMM....why couldnt they tell you that before you spent all the money..

Thats correct, that is me as mentioned the first install was wrong and I talked with the shop and we corrected it and that is why I asked for the new pieces, but isnt it strange what they told you Im starting to think i was the guinea pig and they are noticing there front arrangement isnt solid enough and Im not bashing them Im stating facts with pictures and everything, im the first who would love to say it is working perfectly its my money and I will never get it back and the liberty is brand new and this isnt just a question of taking off the lift there is no going back.
All i want is to give the facts and say it works or dont do the same mistake.

Thats F ed up man,

Yea kind of went thru the same crap on my s-10 Trailmaster sales a 6 inch get, but done give you any control arms, nor did they tell me that the originals (stock) are not strong enought to hold up and snap (bent in half) one on a trail, so I had to compine 2 kits Superlift for some tuff controll arms

Yea it is messed up that now they are suggesting that if you want a strong lift then wait for the solid axle conversion. She did mention that they were about to put a stop to the bashing.....not sure what she ment but she named the site by name and named you and what mentioned where your at (NM). I just told her my friend had it on his kj and has some problems with it bolting up and needing to drill this peice and something with the tires. Just to see what kind of response I would get and she blamed the entire thing on the install. Said 8 steps were skipped totally in the install problem. She also said that she has taken the shops kj to moab and that it performed well.

Did you politely ask them for pictures of it in Moab? On a trail?

Nobody can say exactly what happened in the case of this particular lift and install.

One thing is for sure, it is not working and RK has an unhappy customer. They should make it right even if they have to exchange the current lift for a new one - or take it back and give credit toward the SFA kit that they are coming out with. I do not know if the bad blood between fb1 and RK is too much for something like that to happen but I do know that they (RK) let it go too far. Placing the blame on a customer is bad business period. EVEN IF HE SCREWED IT UP, they should make sure that the small install base is happy and the kit is as advertised. Again, bad business...

I am DYING for an SFA kit but doubt if RK is the first to market that I will buy one, or anything else, from them.

Here is a bash for RK - You told me I would be contacted about the lift BEFORE it went to market. LIE! You told me that I would be informed of testing and results. LIE! You told me that I would have access to a pre-release kit. LIE! You said that it would be trail capable. So far it is not looking good for that one either. What I can tell from my experience is your customer service SUCKS! Did you never hear that the customer is always right??? Guess not.

I will close with this - RK, put up or shut up. You need us more than we need you.

Later,
J

Wow fireblad1, on the old message board, I thought you were JOKING about the RK 7' lift not being capable! That is an AWFUL lot of money to spend on something that doesn't work. Sorry to hear you have had such a tough time with it, and for pure PR purposes, RK should do everything they can to make it right. I own a small business, dealing primarily with a local customer base. If I ran my business the way some people seem to think they can run theirs, I would be OUT of business. Unfortunately, I have found that customer service has primarily gone "out the window", in the U.S. at least.

The off-road business is such a "niche" market, one would think that a company like RK would want to keep everyone happy....after all, we all talk to each other out here in 4x4 land...

What gets me is they know about this forum and what is being posted here. And she laughed it off. Talked about putting a stop to it. And she should never have mentioned you by name or what state your in. I dont own a business but from my military experience I have seen the Air Force ground a whole fleet of jets just because one has a problem. In this case they should be working with fb1 to get this resolved. I know from this I will prolly never order from them. Like said earlier we expect when a new product, espically one as complicated and involved as this there will be some problems from time to time. That is why there is usually a satisfaction garuntee on products.

And no I didnt think to ask for pics of their KJ at moab

I think that you misunderstood about Moab... You thought she said it performed on the trail in Moab. What she actually said it it performed on the TRAILER in Moab. :-)r

I have seen plenty pictures of it in Moab. They are all nice and comfy shots of it in the booth.

Why would I even be interested in the solid axle conversion lift kit from them if they can't get their act together for this one?

As for putting a stop to the "bashing", they need to put up or shut up.

Sounds like to me all they are going to do is keep showing their stupid on this one.

Something Rock Krawler keeps saying is this is a bad install. So why doesnt the shop that did the inital install warrenty the work? But any how...like I said with my aircraft days it only takes one to ground the fleet. Let a bad/poorly designed part (If your drilling holes in anything and they (RK) are telling you to do it then it was poorly designed) hit the flight line then fail in flight.......And also from growing up in the shipping industry...let worms be found in just one bushel in the trailer.....One bad apple will spoil the whole bushel. And right now there 346 members listed on this forum......If you look at the law of averages in sales 1 out of 10 will buy....(even dog crap in a paper bag) then 34.6 people would buy their kit.....at 2999.00 each that is 103,765.40 not to mention you have to buy 4 other additional required parts plus they recommend 5 others....Do you think they are thinking about any of this??
