People don't BASH lifts, they just know what's junk. It's is very well known that the best lift you can get is anything replacing the struts, shocks, and coil springs. Spacer (puc) lifts are the cheaper route, and not as safe, though many are fine (Daystar, for sure). A 2.5" spacer seems to be the limit for those not wanting CV boot problems; I'd like to see what the 3" billet lift does to those babies after some good mileage and offroading.
A lot of people buy the Frankenlift because they hear it's the best lift for offroading articulation, and safety (that's the general consensus, last I checked). We know that All-J is best buds with the KJ community and LOST, and know that the won't sell a product that will damage the KJ. Bottom-line, when you buy the Frankenlit, you shouldn't have to worry about anything, if you install it right, except for some trimming for that crazy flex!

There was guy on this forum that used the billet lift and was very unsatisfied with it. He complained and the guy actually threatened him. He mentioned poor weld quality and SLOOOOOW shipping. On Ebay when they were selling them there was something like 44 feed back and many were negative (granted part of it was shipping) there were 9 neutral and 12 negative. so basically 50% of the people were satisfied with the lift. Asking the manufacturer will only get you one sided answers from people that need you to buy the lift. Manufacturers will tell you anything to get you to buy their product over another's. The only way to know for sure is to ask someone who has had and used it for a decent amount of time. Afornal-how long have you had that lift? A month maybe? Come back in a year and tell us what you think of it. Yes I like the ride of my Rusty's space lift and it was easy to install but I won't comment on the quality of the lift untill after I have used and abused it for a while. BTW-my CV angles are not nearly as bad as I thought they would be (almost level)

Took a few Pics today of the Billet lift. Its dirty under there! Well I do Live in PA, Just got a blast of a winter storm up here yesterday, So I went out with the jeep alittle bit. Since installing the Lift I have Been of-froad a few times, Just to shake things up and put this to test. Its been over a month now, and No major problems or issues yet. The lift rides nice, and gives the KJ a whole new look. As many of those who have not had many good things to say about this lift, My question to you is have you tried it? I am reporting my findings so far, and posting a few Pics on my car domain site. Anything major and or problems I'll be the first to report it here. Next report March 2006.

For anyone who might also want to hear this, I wrote Billet Lift and this is the conversation had by them.

In a message dated 2/9/2006 8:31:43 AM Eastern Standard Time, ***@***.com writes:

Knowing what I know about the Jeep KJ I was wondering how your lift achieves a 3" lift with out compromising the CV's with such large tires. I would be very interested in seeing the angle the CV's sit at on the CRD you lifted. Could you please send me a pic of the CV's with the 33" tires on there? Thank you. I really would love to see the KJ in person, I live near Melrose, do you have the KJ for display or to you show it? Thanks, If the CV’s are not compromised then I would love to buy this lift.

Reply:

We have put approx 22,000 miles on this Liberty with the lift installed and have done nothing to it... in fact, Beck Chrysler in Palatka advised the lift didn't void the warranty. Yes it is exactly a 3" lift. Our only concern is with ball joints. They appear to be in a strain constantly, however Beck Chrysler inspects them every 3,000 miles and they are holding up fine. The Jeep has been at Beck (on display) this week... I will be taking it to Miami for a show next week and will be back in this location, Palatka area, two weeks from now. Just so you know, you can't just install the lift and stick on 33" tires. We did major finder cutting to fit these and they still rub very little when offroading. We keep many of these in stock at all times.

Thanks, Jerry

As some one mentioned before would you trust yourself to some "un-known" company, well all companys have to start out kinda un-known... You dont become famous over night, its from your good workmanship and hwo well your product works in the real world that decides how good you are and ultimatly how "known" you are.

I would like to go see this truck in person and take some good pics of it, I might head down the Palatka area in a few weeks and see about doing this.

I've noticed one misleading statement they make on their site.

They state: "You do not need to change anything on your suspension".

Most everyone on our site knows that you need to use extended rear shocks with a lift kit. And especially for one advertising 3" of rear lift.

I guess they're just not not aware of it, considering "Bling" Promotional Vechicles go to car shows, and not Off-Roading.

Oh, and good luck to those of you that have bought this kit, I hope it works out for your needs.

Well here is the deal... I had ordered a Rusty's lift when I ordered my AT2's and have been waiting for the lift now for like 2 weeks. I cancelled my order from Rusys because they kept telling me that they didn't have the rear spacers in stock and it would be tomorrow. They never got them. So I did some more checking on the billetlift and found out the same stuff. I have a Uncle that lives down by Palatka and he was able to check this thing out at Becks. He said everything looks good. So we shall see, hopefully by next week end. If you plan on doing some serious flexing then you should put on extended shocks...if not they can wait.

Hmm, i wouldnt of done that with the rustys lift, thats a good lift for your money ive heard. i believe the franken lift puts the cv under to much of an angle for me, my jeep is on road alot more than i like. The ome lift is another good lift, cost alot though. $650.

His cv joints look fine with the billet lift. I dont know if it has UBJC though.
