Would there be any reason we shouldn't take a sawzall to the "wing" part on the top corners by the lights?

Are you talking about the big tab overhang directly under the taillight? If so, that tab is what the bolt goes through the hinge of the carrier and in the top of the bumper. Bolt on caps will come with the bumpers to fill in the gap if the carriers are not used. Did that make sense?

Couldn't we just drill 4 holes for the license plate? I personally don't want it getting in the way if I have to either strap someone onto the back or change my tire. I hate those darn things, but they're a necessity.

Looks absolutely great though. You mentioned a high lift mount before; was that just for lifting the vehicle or for storage as well?

I believe I answered a similar question just two posts above yours, if you are referring to the large tab overhang looking thing just below the driver's side taillight. No problem in asking the question, it was legit. Some things will make more sense once the final product is done.

vxla: There will be "T" shaped holes to place the jack into for lifting, and I am working on how to mount the Highlift for carrying/storage.

Yes you did. But would you have a pic of what it would look like with the cap??

The license plate grip to me is so not a concern. You could mount that biatch on the can side carrier, on the bumper some where, well all over really. With the carriers in I have no doubt about this bumpers sweetness! That would kinda hide that deal. But the stayfree maxi thing (it has wings), that is just no good

I am definately not trying to be a Richard but just asking really because I am truly interested.

Thanks for your quick reply to my previous response.

No problem. The cap will fill in the gap under the tail light so it wraps all the way around. I'll pretty up this mockup this week and make some caps to help answer that question better.

I couldn't begin to guesstimate what it costs to make something like that but I would think that just the bumper alone without the swing gates should be in the $400 range give or take. I hope I did not insult any of the creative thinking and hard work that has already gone into this project because I really love the design and how it matches the ARB (which I still can't afford). I think $400 would be pretty low...I think $600 would be reasonable for either front or rear, if it's $600 each count me in. I love the looks and I love the fact that the manufacturer actually cares to ask us how to build it. All products should be made this way. The fact that he (Rock Lizard) is a small business and builds his products in America by hand-that is a huge selling point. That's part of the reason I bought the Jeep (built in America). If my dollar will go to support Americans and help OUR economy-you can count on a sale.

It's going to be around $600.00 without the carrier if I remember correctly. Not a bad deal, and you can add the carrier later if you so desire. Funny how some peeps will pay $500.00 for a tin foil brush guard, yet witch about an extra hundred for a bumper that actually privides solid protection like the ARB and RL's projects. Only in the US.

I would be willing to shell out about 600 for the front. I would like both eventually, but only really have the money for one right now and think the front would be a better area to start since my front bumper already has scrapes and seems more likely to hit something head on.

Looks great, but will the spare tire still be able to be located in the same place without the accessory? If so, where will the license plate go? I love the design though!

Mount the license plate on the spare tire through the center hole with a linch pin to hold it on (mounted like a reciever hitch where the license plate would be the part that is inserted into the reciever).

But I already have the antenna mount there ... any more ideas?

Prices are just estimates right now, but shooting for under $600 for front bumper, under $600 for the rear without tire carrier, around $800 for rear with carrier, and more for the dual swing arm carrier and jerry can/highlift carrier. These prices are not set in stone, as I really don't know, I'm just basing off the design I have now compared to the design costs of my other products. I do have some special intro prices/deals thought up that are real incentives. I will have intro prices when they first come out, as well as discounts for buying front and rear as a combo, and if you go all out for the front and rear with carriers, I'll have an extra special intro deal. Details on the intro prices, discounts and deals when I know more on my build cost. That's all the info I have so far.

This is what RL said on the other thread ....

Sorry for off topic but........

So you would buy a Toyota or Honda made in America, right? If not why? If a Chevy is made in China, would you buy it? It is American owned. What if most of your parts are made in another country but assembled in America or vice versa? You may respond by PMing. I like debates in this area.

Jeep is technically a "Hun" product now with Daimler calling the shots from across the pond.

Now that you've got everybody drooling over this thing (myself included), what kind of time frame do you expect before we can actually start ordering them? Remember, you may get more orders than you can handle at first. I just need to get an idea so I can try an save up towards them.
