but information specific to the hooks themselves i haven't found yet. inspection and measurements etc should be done of course.

i might email jeep and ask about the different ratings and how they have done them. probably the best way.

Those are some very scary photos. Can you imagine if someone was sitting in the passenger seat of that Jeep?

those phots further enforce the fact that if you cant "mucle" a person out get a winch but dont get a big running start
i have seen a chain break and shread a full size pu tail gate
i have seen the oe tow hooks on grand pull a TJ almost strait up with a 9K warn on a 2 part line and the TJ was dead
we had to anchor the grand to a tree and the 8" sapling was starting to bend but the hook held
i would trust the oe tow hooks far beond an after market set and the way rear hiches are made you almost cant bend them let alone break them just loop around the hich it self and dont use the hich pin
it may bend but you will break a strap or a winch cable befor you break a hich

I'm planning on installing front tow hooks on my 2005 Liberty and was searching this forum for a part number. Or will the jeep parts dept. know exactly what I need for an aftermarket tow hook kit for a 2005? Planning on heading over to Moab, so I need to get this done in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks

Not sure on the part number for your year, but the dealer definately should. Smart move getting it now. Have fun in Moab.
