WAY TOO WIDE OF A WHEEL no tire you run on a KJ needs 9 inch wheel width just asking for issues
[b]16 inch wheel
7 INCH WIDE WHEEL IS ALL YOU NEED WITH 4 INCHES OF BACKSPACING
PLUS with atht wide you'll need to CUT, HAMMER, BEND, PRY ETC

I totally value your opinions, that is why I keep coming back here for advice. What do you think about these wheels with 245/70/r17s on them? The backspacing is 5.5" but just about everything I find is... Having a hard time finding good selection of 16" rims too.

Thanks for the guidance.

More hours, a few more technicians and several websites later I am unable to find a single 16x7 wheel with 4" backspacing. They all seem to have about 5.5" backspacing. I did find one 16x8 wheel with 4.5" backspacing but it has a "0" offset which I believe will place the tire way out and require trimming and new flares on the vehicle. Currently leaning towards 17x8 with 5.5" of backspacing and a 25mm offset. All I have ever wanted is for this to be easy though, and if a 16x7 wheel with 5.5" of backspacing and a 40mm offset will simplify my life I am happy to take a less desirable rim.

Any advice is welcome from you veterans of this dilemma.

Not sure what type of wheels you are looking at but plenty available in 7 inch wide/ 4 inch backspacing
Problem with 8 inch wide is no tire we run really needs that size
BUT 16 X 8 with 5 inches of backspacing would be the same as MOABs. Throw some 265-70-16s on and be good , not 265-75-16s, 70 series, wider and sit good on a 8 inch wheel

Because I am in Hawaii Amazon prime is my go to shipper but I have looked at many other websites and all the the 16x7s I find are 5.5" BS.

If I have my head wrapped around this properly my existing factory wheels are also 5.5" BS so any wheel that I choose that has a similar measurement will have the same amount of room in the back but a wider wheel will simply stick out on the street side a little more. I have just finished crawling around the Jeep and I can not see why an inch on the street side would make much difference (maybe I am missing something?) Even with the old sagging factory springs I don't see how an inch in any direction will make much difference. With the IronMan lift won't there be plenty of room?

Your recommendation of a 16x8 with 5" BS is a good one and I see the logic in it. Unfortunately I can not find a wheel in that size. If my calculations are right 17x8 with a 265/65 will be essentially the same size as a 16x8 with a 265/70. Is that correct?

Here are the wheels I am interested in:

Well, that's not really true.

You can lift your CRD:

2.5"
4.00"
6.00"

Just look over at Jeepin By Al's site.
