i know it was said that you shouldnt put one of these in the front but thats all they offer right now, but did anyone else notice that if you click on the front for the KJ it says not for use in the Dana 30a??

Got an email a few weeks ago about one for the rear and they are still at least a couple months out in releasing them. They don't want to give out any date and then have it come back to bite them because they end up being delayed for some reason or other. Patience is a virtue I guess.

Same old song & dance time:

I am the only one left that thinks that the TrueTrac may actuaully save a D30a in the way it would be diverting power away from a free spinning wheel before it comes back down?

Aussie + TT looks like a good combo for the money.

Detroit locker + TT for a simple, strong combo

i thought so too... but after investigating both the Aussie and the Detroit locker for the rear i've realized a couple things. the Detorit is about 300-400 more than the aussie is supposed to be.. and a much more lengthy install that i would have to pay someone to do (since it would need re-shimmed and re assembled with the gears in the rear end... all of this requires special tools).. which would probably be another 100. Where as the aussie is a much much cheaper set up to begin with and i could probably install it in about 3 hours. so i'll save my $500 and have better on road manors.. and great offroad ability

so.. as soon as the aussie is available i will be ordering one... uncle sam sent my tax refund and it's just WAITING for the aussie :)... then if i want more sometime later.. i'll go with the DTT in the front. i think that would help save the D30a in the front since you could do obstacles more controlled and with less wheel spin. but i would be kinda worried about on-road mannors with a DTT in the front. anyone have one up there.. and how does it work for you on road? or does it just engage when you put it in 4hi or 4 lo?

Troy (TJKJ) has a TT in the front of his and likes it from what I have heard then he has an ARB in the rear. More than likely thats what I will go for in mine in the front is a TT, I think it would work great

Is the TT a selectable or full time locker for the front?

the TT is a limted slip type set up... not a full locker and Definitely not selectable.

That is what I thought. Not sure I want anything that isn't selectable up front. I know I'll have to pay more in the end, but I think the Aussie in the rear would be ok, just not sure about a limited slip up front and how it handles on road in combination with one always going in the rear. I have zero experience with lockers so, any people with experience that want to chime in would be great.

Yeah, I was going to go ARB up front but $$$ is always an issue. Plus I am not sure I wheel hard enough to ever need one up front if I put the Aussie in the rear.

Nick (KJ04) has one. You met him at Wellsville, so drop him a line!

your right! i forgot all about that. i actually think i've asked him before but i forget what he said.

i'm just worried about my KJ driving like a bull dozer if i put a DTT in the front. but that wouldnt be bad if it was only in 4hi or 4lo.. but in normal driving in 2 wheel drive i wouldnt want it driving like a bull dozer. now that i think about it.. i think he said it drove a little "heavy" in steering.. but i forget if that was all the time or just in 4 wheel drive.

and by the way.. those dissconnects i was asking you about look like they work pretty well in that picture!! i think i'll add those to my wish list

I think from what I have been told and heard the ARB would actually have a heavier feel when locked in than the TT would. I am sure you are going to notice it ( the TT) some but not much at all
