The same old questions are recycled over and over and over by most people on here, not just ObiHann. If we were to ignore all the questions that had been answered already this site would have a lot less activity. Some people might be too afraid to ask the questions he is and need the info and are glad he is getting it covered.

Obi, I am running the stock arms on my Franky and no issues at all. Save and get the Franky. Worth every cent.

Do an OME HD lift with Daystar top plate & clevis, then buy the A-arms.

No pics of the KM2's yet... but then again, I have no KM2's... there under the "coming soon" section... I'm still waiting to make sure I can get a lift before I look into tires. To be honest I'm not even completly sold on the KM2's, I'm still worried they will wear too fast on the highway.

i dont have the a-arms either...

when i was real new to the scene i read everything on the site for weeks before i asked questions.. and when i asked questions it was normally though a PM to someone who had personal experience with the part/area i was looking to find info on... and those people were found from stalking their avatars and what their jeep looked like in the picture section :)

I know someone is going to grumble at me but is that not just a franky? I mean, a franky has ranchos but I assume you want me to get those too.

because it cheaper, I pieced together my OME HD lift and spent about $700 shipped and that was everything, coils, shocks, iso's, and clevis lift. You can piece one together cheaper than the Franky its just with the Franky you dont have to compress the front coils to add the top plate.

Oops, yep I forgot the Rancho shocks front & back.

No grumbling here, I know I've been driving Tommudd nuts for a while now, asking and re-asking questions to make sure I buy the right stuff the second time around! (I already have a Daystar on my KJ).

From what I understand (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the Frankie also has a small, like 3/4"-1", poly-bushing like the daystar that is in the front setup.

From their site:

Front Includes:
Complete front assembled struts using: OME H/D coil springs; Rancho 17505 struts; Daystar upper strut plates, and our custom designed Poly Urethane spacers - they fit better, they look better, and they're designed specifically for your KJ!

Rear Includes:
OME948 Heavy Duty coils; Rancho RSX shocks; and Daystar rear bump stops.

Also, from what I understand, the poly-bushing is only made for All J's.

So it would be close to a Frankie, but not exactly.

But by going OME you would have most if not enough money left over to by the A-arms.

Well I just heard back from all j's and they quoted me just shy of $1000 USD shipped to my door. I guess end of the day thats a price I can live with, I will be looking at likely $1600ish installed, depending on how much customs and taxs I have to pay...

get a friend, and read a DIY tutorial. there's a couple very detailed tutorials on here... save yourself 600 bones..
i want to try to do mine myself as well..

does anybody think it is completely irrational to do this lift, just me and my buddy? he is pretty car savvy, he is always under his car, we've replaced control arm bushings, brakes, etc. on cars from jettas to camrys to jeeps... i have a feeling, having all the tools i need, the two of us could definitely do it, even if it took two days..
it won't be till the spring, anyway... unless...... that is.. someone on here from the NE wants to help me ;)

It is really very simple to do only takes a few hous at most, jack, jack stands and the right wrenches/sockets and a BFH and you will be good, several have called me during installation and ask questions and got them through it

I'de still rather not attempt it myself. I don't now anyone that has done suspension work, and I am not mechanicaly inclined. I'm getting close, I'm working towards it, but thats too big a leap. Plus the fact that I would rather a pro do it, I mean, if I *&^^&* up, I have myself to blame, if a garage @$#% up, I can sue :)

how does the ride compare to stock? Anyone that has had their's for a while...does it seem to put extra stress on or wear out any other parts prematurely? Can you run 30's w/o hammering or trimming?

anyone running 29's? pics? does it look silly?

I want to keep my stock quality with a small lift. I'm keeping this vehicle for a long time & want it to last.

the ride is soo much better than stock. I would think you can do 30" easy I have 31" but I still pounded my pinch weld bc I can lol. In my opinion 29" are a little too small, I really like my 245/75 tire size with the lift.

I think the ride is way better than stock, more controlled feel, stiffer somewhat but good. Have done a lot of trips from here in Ohio to Orlando/ Boston etc and rides as good as any vehicle I have ever had! Mine has been lifted over 75000 miles now and no harm at all, of course replaced the lower ball joints but everyone had to do that! Upper control arms had 70,000 lifted miles on them and no problems when I switched them out.

i have 235/65/16 on my jeep now.. aren't they 29.1" ???
i thought with the franky, you could do 31" and 33" if you bend the pinch weld?
i'm disappointed now :/
