I usually drive my (stock but very gimmicky) TJ to work. The other day it was low on gas and I was late so I threw my gear into the KJ. When I pulled up at the client's place he was outside and as I got out he says "I see you brought a real Jeep this time." :)

what do the hatters know?
the way i see it is the way it will always be
you can put the worst driver be hind the wheel of the best rig and they will still get stuck
put a person with some real driving skill behind the wheel of a stock KJ or any jeep for that matter
and no H2 or H3 or Hpee can follow them i prove it time and again when i run level 7+ trails wiyh a TJ
on 30's and guys with 33's and 35's are complining how tuff it is or worse getting stuck

LOL JJ, I agree. Shut down this thread. Why is it in the 4x4 section anyway?

That M151 was IFS and IRS. It had some rollover issues, and a solid rear axle was often used to overcome some of them.

And every Jeep has its shortcomings.... and every Jeep is teased when it first comes out. It happens every single time. I've noticed that it IS slowing down.... but you have to admit, even TJs are still getting crap.

The new JK is being eaten into already, and nobody's been able to drive one yet.

Life is too short to concern yourself with Jeep truists. Life is about adaptations. Those who can adapt survive. Those who can't, don't. DC is always and forever adapting to the market. These "haters" should just be glad that there are those of us that keep the Jeep line going on by buying the new Jeeps like the KJ and Commander. If DC had to rely on the Wrangler line for profit there would be no more Jeep. Besides, when the new Compass is released they will have a new group of Jeepsters to hate. The KJ will be cool to them then. We may even make real 4x4 staus then  .

Just to fan the flames a bit......

Jeep offered a 4wd Wagoneer with an IFS in the early sixties..... and I THINK the M151 was actualy made by someone other than Jeep??? Anyone??

Compare the KJ aftermarket today to the XJ aftermarket in 1988 or so. Sure, there was not much available for the KJ's in '03. Very few people who make monthly payments mod the crap out of stuff, void their warranties, and wheel them hard. As more of these get paid off/bought used, you will see more mods available and more modded KJ's.
