Less perverted interpretation: the prices are low enough to get really excited over. :) lol

Mean.. Minimal mark up, if any.

Start here http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=81761 it's awesome reading. Pretty much every active kj member chipped in and helped design this thing.

We did recently (TODAY) experience an incident where the bolts pulled the threads out of the diff. I have heard of this happening before, so over the next couple of days, I will be designing something even more bulletproof.

The report was tht the bolts pulled out of the diff, and the bracket was tweaked a hair. The driver is okay. There are more details coming in. But, I have heard of this happening to someone else, with a similar product (I won't mention names because that's not appropriate, so I am sure there is a way to engineer more strength into this adaptor.

If I ever get pics, I'll post em up.

Tom, You sound surprised that he is overstating something. Are you new here?

I've heard reports of one person having bolts pull out of the diff, not sure if it would be the same other product though....this was a company out of S. America doing a trussed four link kit....I couldn't tell you the name of it 'cause I couldn't get the page to translate....and I failed Spanish 1 ....all I could do was look at pics....I believe that their trussed four link was not the problem, but rather a cure to the problem....I was actually looking into their upper arms, or something equivalent, along with another manufacturers 8.25 truss, to accomplish the goal your after.....my main concern with a truss was more for the truss...

What's not surprising is that there are more people trying to throw me down again? Or is it just the same old ones?? You decide.

Now that I've had to embarrassingly put the above out there.

I got another email, from my stateside friend that states the test kj was on a hill called "axle breaker???" and supposedly it is a level 6. He was coming down off an embankment??? And heard a loud pop. He drove the kj back to camp (distance unknown) when somebody pointed out that his axle was sticking out???

Upon inspection the driver found the lower and upper passenger bolts had pulled out and the upper drivers side had bent, but was still attached. It was also reported the bracket had bent a "hair" and was salvageable.

This was a test case and there was no exchange of money. So for you guys that are waiting for the release of the bracket, I apologize... I wasn't doing any kinda secret deals or playing favourites. I physically have no idea who the test subject is.

Now for the technical theory of why this happened to my bracket and somebody else I know.

I believe the factory ball joint allows the pinion flange to slightly rise and fall during accell and decal, forward and reverse. It has to, because the bj pivots and with it the axle. With the bj setup the axle has room to move (as stated above) so when your coming down off a rock or your yanking somebody out, that little bit of play l, absorbs a small amount of energy and not so much gets transferred into the bolt holes of the diff.

IRO bracket adaptor, device thing!! : because the joint only flex in a style that allows one tire up and one tire down, or... One tire forward the other back... And doesn't allow for pinion rise/fall ALL of the shock energy is transferred directly into the bolt holes/bolt heads and levers in the bracket and tears it off the axle.

I believe the outer bushings of both arms also absorb of the energy, but I'm not certain as to exactly how much??

How to solve this issue:

The bracket must incorporate mounting positions on more than one axis, this will prevent the bracket from levering on the current bolt holes.

In other words, it can't possibly pry in two directions at the same time if the mounting holes are 90 degrees offset from one another.

Overstated again, probably cuz I'm terrible at taking theoretical geometric figures from my head and describing them to you in technicolor, one more try at this.

Two sets of mounting holes, offset 90 degrees, gusseted to each other, when the axle experiences shock, instead of pulling the bolts out of the front of the diff, the forces will be transferred laterally across the gusset and into a set of holes 180 degrees offset to the origin of the force. The diff holes will be safe because the lower holes will prevent the bracket from moving forward. Man this is really hard to explain ... If only I had a crayon.

Any progress on this? How much is the iro upper arm?

I believe the IRO arm is 250 dollars.

I have the drawing for the required revisions, I am just busy with custom orders at the moment.

There will be a release date, just not sure when.
