As for the lower gears I have 4.56s if you would like. http://jeepinbyal.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=16
So did you get Motive gear and Richmond to make custom gears for the Dana30A? You do now the D30A has a longer pinion then the regular D30 right and the 2 gear sets are not interchangeable?Just wondering since 4.56's would be cool,to bad I'm doing SFA.

2 different companies,Motive gear which is a cheap gear manufacture and Richmond which is a better gear company(one of the best).Unless they started making gears for the D30A the only company I know of that makes gears for the D30A is Spicer, and only in 3.55,3.73,and 4.10 ratio's.

I am very interested in this too. It's a good thing we have tjkj2002 around to keep things honest!

To be totally honest, I hope this lift is a success because I might not buy it right away but I will definietly buy it. This lift with 4.10 and 32 tires would be perfect for me. Maybe even 33's with 4.56 if it is possible.

Then I will have to start taking her off road...

Does anyone actually have this 4" lift? its for sale on the jeepinbyal site, but i've never heard of anyone actually having this. Is this basically what Al had on his Jeep before he sold it?

I don't think the springs would be compatible with my CRD, but I do want to switch out my gears to something more compatible to my 32" tires.

tjkj2002 is Correct, I was assuming that my team members who helped me in researching the rears and the gears did a comprehensive job. I see we missed the mark on this one. (A)

If you see any other mistakes on my web site please bring it to my attention.

Yes, Joe Jeeper, I copied the work that Jeff Daniels did on Joe Jeepers KJ, My struts use different cylinders but the stroke is the same.

I have add an extra plate on the strut mount, this give the spring extra tension, to offset the weight of the Diesel engine.

I did look at cutting custom gears, $5000.00 for the proto type.

I think I would be better putting that money in making a steel housing to replace the Dana30A! Than we can put whatever gears we want and we don’t need to worry about over torking the housing.

What are your thoughts?

On the SFA, what is the lift hight?

I can set you up with a 8" rear suspension lift!

I think the steel housing for the Dana 30A would be a good idea. What good is a nice lift with big rubber if you blow the Dana.

I was just wondering,I was hoping it was real but didn't want other poeple to have problems like alot did with Pro over the same issues.

That would be a awesome upgrade for a KJ.A cheaper way and have better ability for gear choices maybe you could cutdown and modify a Dana30(HP or LP would work, there's a million of them out there for cheap) to mount and use the KJ's CV's then the gear problen is solved along with the strength issues for alot less then having a D30A casted in steel. Also would require a new front driveshaft bot that would be stronger using u-joints instead of the CV shaft they come with stock.Just a thought.

Trying to stay at 6"-7" max, using full width axles(65"+ wms),HP Dana44 and Currie RockJock 60.Totally scraping the rear setup in favor of the RE's 5-link longarm suspension for a TJ.[/quote]

hay marlin,

why not make these?

Image

these are made by CST Suspensions. saw them in person at last years expo. very nice. way stronger than cast and can be made to any height. the mount for the stearing can be moved up to get rid of bump steer too.

i stole this from JJ, it's the only photo i could find of a knuckle. looks like the only thing to be machined would be a plate withe the hole for the bering race and the bracket for the brake caliper...

these are for a 2wd ram
