Do they list a different part number for the '02-04 and the '05-07? if so, you got hosed. Those turn signal housings can't mean anything BUT 02-04.

no they didn't give me a part number per say, they just said its for the 05+ body style. But I agree it looks like the same bumper as the 04 -02 would of had

here is what was said:
Mike,

You ordered your bumper through The Fab Shop, in Chino Valley, Arizona, right? OK, assuming that you did, you have the correct bumper for your application. There is a difference between the 02-04 front end and the 05+, but your order was for an 06, so you do have the correct one. From there, the extent of “fabrication” is as stated in the instructions, you need to relocate the turn signal as it is IN the factory bumper, but there isn’t a place IN the Trailready replacement bumper. The turn signal can be mounted between the bumper and the fender flare. Also, the windshield washer reservoir bottle must be relocated. Please see Step Six of the instructions regarding this. We recommend that you have professional assistance with installation if you are uncomfortable with this and we generally recommend professional assistance with the installation of this bumper.

I’ve attached the pictures that accompany these installation instructions. Figure Six (as seen in the instructions) does not exist (we don’t have a picture of the relocation of the windshield washer bottle).

Sure looks the place to put the '02-'04 turn signals in that pic to me.

im guessing that is the standard template, whether you put a light there or not ???? They are still saying the 05+ turn signal needs to go on top of the bumper.

Sounds like a pretty hack install for a bumper. I can't believe they'd charge what they do for one, and not even show you what you're supposed to cut up on your $20,000+ vehicle. I'd expect this kinda stuff from Olympic and their $300 bumpers, but come ON.

What I'd do is snag an 02-04 pair of signals and put them in there...no sense in cutting up your flares more than you're already going to.

but if I did that, what about the ones that are on my KJ now? Do paint over them or use vinyl tape to cover them up the same color as the KJ????

Reading this thread has convinced me that I no longer want a TR rear bumper. RL is going to make a LOT off of me over the next few years.

X2, and arb also.

I got the TR catalog a while back and was noy impressed. But IF you do install it LEAVE IT BLACK. the first rock you have come off the trail or expressway will chip off the white or silver and the black will show through.

Sorry Donnie, Unless you can do a white that is tougher than the bumper, I would leave it black.

0311,
if what Darby said was true and the bumper can me moved up/down, all you have to do is cut the bumper on the red line just like the picture below.

Image

This and moving the washer bottle should be it. I still like the bumper but their instructions and assistance could be better. Maybe you could powdercoat it white? If possible, it would be a lot cheaper than painting. Good luck and post if you have questions. We'll figure it out.

well im playing with the bumper now, and everyone was right about the fact that my factory fogs are going to be covered up 3/4 of the way. I called an spoke to Larry the pres over
at TR, he said when they did the original 05+ it must of been a base model and it didn't have fogs or even the holes in the grille.

That is BS what that dude Larry said. Whether it came with the fogs or not the holes are still there in the grill for them. TR sounds kinda shady almost along the lines of RC with their lift and the whole crd issue. :? :x

The pics of the bumper look like it comes WAY above that line, so I'd just ditch the factory fogs (get a Rennie grille?), wire some bigarse lights into the foglight holes and run them into the factory harness, and run the stock turn signal wiring into an 02-04 blinker housing/lens.

All I can say is WOW!!!

That is an 02-04, there looks to be no difference between that one and Darby's old one. They did not change anything on it. And as far as fitting to a newer, I doubt it, but it is possible they used a rene, but with the low priority they gave the Liberty overall, I bet that thing was sitting on the shelf and they just said yea, it will fit  Good luck with it since you are commited already.

well it doesnt fit
the c-channels they welded do not hug the uni body the way it should, I think the welder rushed this job or was having a bad day? I will post pics when I get home. but basically the turn signal wont fit between the gap and the flares. the turn signals are about 3" wide and the gap in the bumper and the flares is 2" The mounting tabs the guy welded for the aux light were from the wrong stock, accoring to TR when I called them, they were to long and hit the uni body keeping me from getting the bumper flush, So Larry suggested i cut them off and i find a local guy to fab and weld some new ones and he would pick up the tab.. so as it sits now the bumper is not on and I have already hacked up my KJ and taken out the washer bottle etc....

I'd tell them to F off and send it back to them on their dime. it's advertised as an 05-07 part and it needs to fit. no visits to a fabricator should be required

Or better yet, park the KJ on the steps at their HQ until it's resolved and installed.

Well if you get it redone make sure they pick up the cost of re-powder coating it also since it will need it,good time to get it done in white. But for $1100+ it should fit and come with everything, and I mean everything needed to put on and look good.
