I knew about ford too as I worked as a ford mechanic for a few years during college. Its all about emission and how the American public veiw driving. In Europe driving is a joy or at least an activity they take seriously, they (and the rest of the world) also understand that clean diesels > hybrids. So they have a good market there. The US does not because as a whole we are an ignorant market that will eat any BS that is fed to us in an AD so if you ask a group of people what they think about diesels your more likely to get disgusted grumbles then a decent response. It is a shame 'cause people are missing out on having their cake and eating it too all because they want to believe what they see on TV instead of what the rest of the world seems to think of as common knowledge. :banghead:

Well told, and I too feel that I own a special vehicle proudly. Now, Jeep should come out with an all electric Liberty in 2013. :JEEPIN:

I was cleaning up the man cave a bit, and came across some of the Jeep crap, er, I mean highly collectible factory memorabilia that I've picked up over the years. Though you guys might like to see it.

Inside the plant is a Jeep store that for obvious reasons only employees can get into. Most of the stuff they offer is your standard Jeep swag, but every now and then they offer something unique. Like these stickers. These were made by Jeep's art department and sold to us back in the early 2ks. I bought everyone that was offered up until the guy that made them retired.

Dial up beware! clicking on the thumbnails take you to a hi-res picture!

Next are my posters. I've seen them online, so they are not anything special. A woman in the office called me in on day and told me that they were going to throw away some posters that corporate had sent them. She said to help myself.

I got this one back in the late 80's when they were stadium racing the Comanche trucks.

This one is my favorite. It's not a paper poster, but a large vinyl decal! Being a fan of BoB, Jeeps, and a collector of Curio and Relic firearms, it combines everyone I dig in one poster. M1 Garands. mmmmmm.....

This one came from Jefferson North in Detroit. I spent 6 years there building the Grands.

Speaking of Jefferson North, here is a little statue doo-hickey they handed out to commemorate the 1 millions Grand Cherokee.

I have some more stuff laying around here I'm sure. I'll post more pics as things turn up.
