I just wanted to thank all you guys for the comments in which you spoke of in this forum. I was excited when I saw the September issue of FOUR WHEELER, I was going to go out and get the kit shipped over to germany and installed, but after reading everything that you have put in, I am really nervous about purchasing it. Do you guys think that it will get better in the next couple of years? I have been waiting for a long time for an outstanding lift like this one to come out. But I want it for looks but I need the guarentee when I need it off road it will be there for me. I am not able to do a lot of off roading over here in Germany but when I get to alaska, "It's on!"

I think you can draw your own conclusions about the 7up lift. Other options are in the mill including SFA project but for now 2.5" lifts are about it. And they'll get you most places.

You should plug into the new Alaska LOST bunch if that's going to be your PCS.

There is a Liberty with the RK lift in the September issue of Four Wheeler magazine...

Have you had any problems with your lift since you installed it? I know that you haven't had much time to off road becuase of the traveling with Sirius Radio, but no troubles on the tar?

I have not had the problems listed throughout this forum, but you are right I have not done a lot of "heavy" wheel'in" because of show and dealer commitments for Sirius. The vehicle has been off road and has handled everything with no breakage yet. But again nothing real heavy.

Reading about all of the issuses and opinions though has caused me to start adding as much additional support to the front end to keep it from breaking.
I have found other threads in the Liberty fourms talking about weak points that the Lib has even without installing a lift. Front diffs, axles, etc...
There are tips on supporting the front diff collar and a company that now offers heavy duty front axles for the Liberty. So there is plenty of good advice listed to help make these Jeeps as tuff as you need them to be.

So bottom line is I didn't plan on any hard core 4 wheeling anyway and like with any major mods done to a vehicle there is always going to be the need to replace and or beef up the weaker items even if it is just used on the tar....
I have bulit other project vehicles and in most cases anything over 4" of lift and tires bigger than 33's is going to require mods to keep it going. This project has been no different.
The system is working well enough now that I am running 36x13.5 15 IROKS.....
This thing is starting to look more like a tonka toy than a Jeep...
Hope this helps........

I think many who have followed this thread from the old board to this have a feeling this rig is expensive and not off road worthy. The idea is awesome but not if it can't handle what its there for. We had a guy who took it out time after time and broke it doing what it was built to do, off roading, time afer time.

Yeah it looks good and might even be a chick magnet.

I'd like to see it run John Bull, Calico, and Moab before I'd consider it again. Shoot I'd even consider being a guinea pig for the rig, since I plan on going to all three events. But not with my own money.
