Here is a copy of the email I just received today updating the rear Aussie lunchbox...

"The factory advised that they were in full production. We are expecting the first shipment in late June. We will have to do our "installation manual" install when we get the first units, and then we will put them on the web site."

woo hoo.. hopefully i can have one installed by the end of the summer. It's hard waiting for a product to come out.. so i hope it's worth it when i finally get one! It is also difficult holding off buying another locker.. like a detroit.

I wouldn't hold your breath. They've been saying just a month or so for years now!! I gave up on my 8.25 back in 05 and threw a D44 in there. The cost of the D44 + the cost of the aussie was less than the cost of a powertrax no-slip!!

How hard is it to swap the rear axle out anyway? Where did you get the D44?

For a XJ not a KJ.

I see, but how hard would it be to go from the 8.25 to the d44 in back of a kj?

Not hard, just need to weld new mounts and redo the upper tri-link,then unless you get one of those rare KJ D44's you need to figure the speedo issue since the KJ uses a tone ring in the rear diff to operate the speedo.
