Why do you need 200 lbs rear springs? Go for the JBA rear springs, the JBA lift isn't much taller than the Franky with extra isolators.

I'm just comparing the springs stiffness because someone above said that 200 ibs for the jba wasn't enough and the ome948's were stiffer and won't sag as fast. But if both springs are the same stiffness then it will just depend on which one gives more lift.

All I know is that you didn't get HD's or something is wrong. Hmmmmm, strange for sure. I guess it wouldn't matter, I'd probably go with the Franky HD's and send yours back to All J's for a free swap.

So I asked marlin about spring rates. He said his springs are rated at 200 ibs/in. However, he also said that stock springs are 200 ibs/in. How can this be? Are ome948's the same rate as stock?

I can't find anywhere about the 948's but it should be more then the OEM rating. My rear coils for my SFA swap are OME 863's(250lbs),the medium duty rear coils for a FJ80,the OME 864's are the HD coils at 320lbs and the light duty's are 220lbs.

Well, i sent another request to arb to verify the spring rate. Something doesn't seem right here. Perhaps Marlin is wrong about stock spring rate or the guy at arb gave me the wrong numbers.

I agree here either the stock spring rates are lighter than 200lbs or what is the point of upgrading to a HD OME 948?

I could just run the stock springs with a spacer would be the same thing, So ya i think the numbers got to be off somewhere...

This is definatly worth investigating, im going to call Jeep see if I can find their spring rating

Interesting, I have the same issue. Frankenlift CRD premium. The rear sits at 20.5, but at 21.25 if I take the 125 pounds of stuff out of the rear end. Front end sits at 21.6. I also have one extra isolator in the back.

I have been thinking of swapping the rear for the 4 inch, but I don't want it to sit too much higher in the back. How high is the Jeepin by Al lift supposed to sit in the rear (from fender to wheel hub)?

Maybe I will talk to All J's on Monday and see what they think.

Pablo, I also see that you have the extra weight of the tow package and maybe a Skid Row gas tank skid? Anyway, I’m having the opposite problem. My front coils are compressed due to an ARB and winch, therefore I will have to add an upper strut plate or add the CRD coils to my front end. Or maybe once the HD RL rear bumper goes on, then everything will level out. LOL, complicated huh?

Just the mopar skid, and tools and parts, which have occasionally come in handy.

Okay, if you guys aren't confused yet then here you go.

"Carl,

The OME947 has a spring rate of 170 lb/in.

Best Regards,

Nils Bull

ARB Tech

nilsb@arbusa.com "

So we know that

OME948 200 ibs/in
OME947 170 ibs/in
jba 4" 200 ibs/in
stock ???? (jba says 200 ibs but this can't be right)

Now, i was searching on the forums and someone there said that stock was 90 ibs less than OME948. That would put stock at 110 ibs if that is true.

I have a friend that works at the dealer and have asked him to look up the stock spring rate. Waiting a response.
