Got Rusty's coil lift intalled yesterday in my garage... only problem was the spring compressors i got a harbor freight wouldn't fit between the coils and the ones at autozone wouldn't work either, and advance auto had theirs loned out... so a call to a friend with an auto shop and we used their compressor for free :)

had the rear shock ratling that has been mentioned on here before, so i torqued down the upper bolts to 60 ft/lb and it went away... i even used 4 washers on each upper shock mount...

all in all.. i'm very pleased with this lift... rides nice

Here's some pics:

Here's me working on the jeep

a little help from a friend after we got back from his shop with the assembled struts

then maybe a powertrax for some extra bite

Same thing for me with the front struts. I tried doin them myself at the base hobby shop with their haggard old spring compressor and nearly bout took my wife's head off. So my buddy who works at a AUTO SHOP put em together for me. Good to know people!! :D So needless to say I was driving around for a day with the rear end lifted and the front stock! I had to put bout four washers in the top shock mounts on the rear. I have bout 2000 miles on it with the lift and still no rattling form em! I also put their upper strut plate spacer in as well! You'll love the lift!

An advantage of the Rusty's lift and having the lower profile basket (BVG). You can still get into the average height garage.

See how the are flat, not round. I would guess it is ABS plastic. If it where round, it would probably be metal.

yep... taillight covers are plastic... came with the renegade from factory with the "D" package..

biggest PITA for me was the darn battery tray removal...
bunch of wiring attached to it and the clips are hard to get out without breaking the plastic...

other than that, no big issues... it's hard to get the clevis bracket back onto the new strut, had to pry it open a little to get it back on there... not too much though as to not weaken it.

How long did it take for you to install the lift?

it ended up being an all day project when you factor in the heat, the searching for a strut compressor, and did i mention the heat?
