Has anyone tried these tire? BF Goodrich has those sizes in the Mud Terrain and all terrain. I've got a stock '06 libby looking to get the rusty coil lift and i want a agressive looking mud tire and about the tallest tire you can get with the 2.5" lift is a 31" alot of 31's out there just look too skinny. Backspaceing, stock rims are around 5.5 if i went with a 3" backspaced rim would i get these tires to fit in and not rub the suspension. Here are some specs of the tire I pulled of BFG's site:

325/60R15 - 13" section width on a 9.5" wheel, overall tire diameter: 30.6"

if you calculate the metric bs out of the tire, the tire diameter should be 30.4x12.8 with a section hidth of 7.7, they're more expensive, a bunch actually but with a properly backspaced rim these tires would look sweet, and also they'd be wide enough to float on any type of sand mud and anything else you could throw at a jeep.

Any constructive criticism for this idea is more than welcome, rocky road outfitters has custom backspaced wheels out to 2.5"? Feel free to comment, I'm trying to figure out if this is a stupid idea or an interesting one.

It is an interesting idea! Considering i hav enever heard of anyone on here running those size tires before. The thing i would see happening is you having to do a lot of trimming for turning sake up front. Then when you would stuff the tires while flewinx more than likely than would hit the platic fender flares. Just my thoughts.

I dont think they would fit for the same reason kolesy stated

The way to look at it is this the ark that youe tire will follow will be longer on the out side edge will be some thing like 5" longer than stock with a tire that wide on a rim with that back spacing
You could probably get it to fit but it would require mega bump stopping and you would have very little up travel
and the front would rub like crazy on the sway bar

also we here in south LA have found that with the wider tires when it is muddy they seem to cake up realy fast and just float like slicks on top the mud so to climb a wet hill is worse but if you are staying on flat ground then wider is better but when it comes to climbing hills then thin is in because the thin tires dig easily to the dry dirt and get traction

thats why I was able to climb the wet hills with my little 30X9.50's and the guys with the 33X12.5's have problems

In mud, your options are to dig through it (skinny helps) or ride over it (wide) The skinny sucks if there is nothing to dig to, and the wide requires more HP and wheel speed. So, either way works some of the time. LOL.
