| Post subject: | Towing with Lift |
First off, great board. I plan on towing a boat with my 06 CRD (so far the diesel is impressive), but wanted to add a lift. The rear already has some sag (~3500 lb trailer) when it’s hooked up, although I plan to get a weight dist hitch. The main job of the vehicle is a commuter, with mild offroading in mind/running 245's. Will a spacer lift compound the sag/drivability, or is a full spring (i.e. CRD Frankenlift) the way to go. I'm also a little confused about needing to add new shocks with the spacers lift anyway, but then possibly needing new A-arms with the Frankenlift. It’s going to cost $ either way, but want to do it right the first time. Thanks. |

Spacers will not compound sag on the rear nor the front. My HD rear ome springs seem to hold up great to weight, but Ive never had it REALLY loaded down. We have a small 15ft bass boat with a tongue weight of around 250lbs and it doesnt move. Just be sure you get HD rear springs if you go that way. Thats what the franken lift comes anyway with I think. |

I would not worry about the lift causing problems when towing but the larger tires will I have seen guys with F250 diesels go from the factory 32's to 35's and loose enough power to feel it when towing It may not seem like much but ever inch counts |
