OME rear springs-?

I saw that Rustys has OME springs on clearance for $100 pair.

I was thinking about replacing my rear spacers with springs. What I would like to know is how much lift the medium -vs- heavy rear springs give, and how stiff they ride.

My Rustys spacers give me 2.0" lift, and I would like to keep it at 2.0" or 2.5".

My HD ome springs ride great with the ome shocks. Soaks up big dips and whatnot. At first I had about 2.25in lift, then it went down to 2" after a couple months of wheeling and has stayed there for about a year of towing boats and off roading. :wink:

I would say go for it!!

Don't mess around with the Medium Duty springs, just get the HD ones. You will be happy.

The OME HD springs are what's used in the Frankenlift. Don't forget a bumpstop for them though.

I dont mean to hijack but
could i just replace the factory springs with these front and rear?
then replace struts and shocks later?
the cost to swap springs and struts would be $0 I know a guy

I'm curious about this also I already have the RSX's & thier good for up to 2 inches of lift according to All J's

Ah so, bump stops are limiting your flex but keeping the spring? I wanted those springs too. I gotta test this theory (without bumpstops). so far, the daystars are the only thing retaining the spring.

The bumpstops only take 1" away, not enough to really notice. It still allows the other side to droop as much as it can.

Jason thompson, you can put those springs in and not change the shocks. The front shocks may top out alitte much causing them to go bad early. Not to sure though.

Shoot if you're gonna do the springs you might as well do the shocks. Then add a handful of dollars while you've got it all apart and you'll have a Frankenlift. Why fool around in pieces?

EDWIN...Whats your verdict???

The bumpstop doesn't limit the flex but does keep the spring on. The bumpstop limits the upside and the chances of your rear tire crashing into your flare. But the droop with the OME is awesome.

The bumpstop doesn't limit the flex but does keep the spring on. The bumpstop limits the upside and the chances of your rear tire crashing into your flare. But the droop with the OME is awesome.

Hmmm.... An extended bumpstop will limit your upward flex as you said. So it does limit flex. The Rear ome shocks are the same length as the stock rear shocks. The front ome struts however are longer. :wink:

Without that upper limit you'll stuff your tire deep into the wheel well and probably freeze your forward motion as the tire gets stuck there. That woulda happened at the Golden Crack. See my Avatar. But it's the droop that keeps the tires on the ground.

yea I know.. I just put the daystar bumpstops on today b/c my 255/70 generals were rubbing. :wink:
