Funds available for top of the line stuff - I do not want to have problems later so I want to do it right the first time
I've read a lot of stuff but now I want to hear from people that have them

I have the powertrax no-slip and like it, however it is not for everyone. If to see what it is like first hand you are more than welcome to test drive my Jeep at the next run.

Powertrax rear

ARB front

Having a selectable locker in the front is great since you can turn it off to turn tightly.

PowerTrax Rear works great and is easy enough for you to do yourself and save the install cash.

My powertrax is starting to get the best of me. I just cannot stand the extra slack it puts in the drivetrain. Im starting to drive it alittle different, and it seems to be working out alittle better. I get on and off the gas as easy as I can, and I think I can can deal with it. I was turning in the driveway the other day and Im purty sure it made the loudest noise its ever made. I had my windows down and it actually echoed off the house!!

For me after having different combinations is:

1) Detroit TT LSD's front (loved mine) and rear. Not as aggressive as lockers but will work together without any fuss. Street manners will be great too.

2) Front and Rear ARB. If you are going to get an air supply anyway, selectable is the way to go plus the ARB replaces your stock carriers with a stronger ARB one. Turn them off...regular KJ...turn then ON...and WOW!

Note: If you ever plan on changing to SFA/ eventually replacing the front diff with some kind of steel D44 or something/ or upgrading the rear axle to a non c-clip type...you will be spending money twice so keep that in mind. The Dual Detroit TT's would be much cheaper and probably easy to sell later. Also ask yourself, "What level of wheeling (read damage...lol) as I plannning on doing?" If you try the Dual Detroit TT's and like them you are set...If you decide to go more "Hard Core", then they would be easy to sell...maybe even one at a time...just the front or just the rear. Nothing wrong with changing it up.

I'm keen on putting in an LSD in the front, but I want to wait & see how a locker in the back would change it. If works the way I think it'll work then there's no point in me putting in that front LSD I guess. I'll just use that cash for some other upgrade :P !!

Jeepjeepster, you say that your automatic powertrax locker is starting to get the better of you (on road).? What you just described is the one thing that is holding me off getting one :( . I dont want it to be clinking in & out of lock all the bloody time on road !! :( That's going to kill my tyres & put unnessessary strain on my diff gears / axles ect. Maybe I should ust bite the bullet & get the ARB.

Or just keep waiting for the Auburn ECTED to come out for our 8.25 diff.

I was thinking about doing just that, but 18+ months is a long time to wait.
