Post subject:  daystar and wheels questions?

Just wanted to get some opinion's from fellow kj owners on if you think a daystar lift is good enough to go off road?I installed a 2.5 on mine and just bought rancho shock's for the back but did not know if that would be good enough.I also bought the factory isolators because the back has a slight sag in it from the soft factory springs. My next question is on wheels I want to widen the track on my libby but don't wanna spend a load of money doing it.Is the BS of the factory full face steel wheels the same as the alloy's?I was considering spidertrax but still am leary of putting spacers on.I was also considering the cragar black d 16x8.What do you think?

I have the Daystar on my 02 and it is ok with me it good for the money
and I havent had any problems.
I have had 2" spacers for my 265/76/16 coopers and it was nice I took them off and put them on my wifes LJ so now I have a slite rub at fool lock I think with 245/75 you will be ok but if you go any larger in tires it's a lot of finder work
spacers give it a wider stance and I havent had any problems.

I've had the Daystar on mine for a few years now and it has served me well. I do have a Frankenlift to put in but the Daystar with Ranchos has worked just fine. It's just a bit low in the front and I think that my winch will be killing it off soon.

I've wheeled the crap out of my Daystar lift with few problems. I'm also running 245/75R16 MT/Rs on the stock steel wheels. I'll be upgrading to a better lift sometime in the future but I've done everything that other KJs similarly outfitted (ie: no lockers) has done. I would suggest if you plan on going to a bigger tire later down the road that you go with the 16x8s.

I wheeled my Daystar lift pretty hard for over a year with great results. Stock BS on the wheels is 5.5". I bought the Cragar 16x7 Black D's with the 4" BS and got rid of all the rubbing with the 245/75/16 MTRs. Also gave the beast better on road manners.

After a time the stock springs will diappoint you though. Mine got to where I was bottoming a little more often than I'd prefer. That's what got me to a Frankenlift.
