Well, I finally decided to buy tow hooks and went to a Jeep dealer. But what a surprise: US$170.00 for the front set and US$130.00 for the rear one. They almost cost twice!!!! (Disadvantage of living in Mexico). Well, I decided then to look out for another option and found a "Keeper" brand tow hook in home depot for US$18.00 (each). Rated at 10,000 pounds max capacity, almost bought it. But wait, read the small letters: "10,000 pounds max load capacity. 3,333 pounds working load capacity". What the...!!! Does that mean I can't use them for pulling a 4,500 pounds KJ? Is it the same for all other tow hooks on market rated at 10,000 pounds? I guess that's why Mopar ones are far more expensive. Could it be possible that the max load declared for these (5,000 pounds) is indeed the working load capacity and not the max load? Do you know of a Jeep parts dealer that ship international orders? I'd rather pay shipping and customs and maybe will cost less overall. Thanks again for your help |
